  1. The Beatles were my music teachers, as I’m sure some of these great actors are teachers for up and coming actors. I’m not ashamed to say I looked up to them in my youth or in my old age, despite their beliefs or miscues.... Nobody is perfect. I’m sure they all worked their butts off to get where they are today.... Like them or not, I’m sure a magic Jeanie just didn’t show up to them in the middle of the night and gave them the ability to be world class entertainers overnight..... and the same for this Ricky character despite his misplaced self absorbing monologue.
  2. Actors, musicians, politicians and activists with a big enough stage to pontificate will voice their views in hopes of receiving some support whether it is blind or going in with eyes wide open. My thing is where was this Ricky character a month ago.???? He could have said the same thing but didn’t, which makes me question his sincerity. I’m sure that $1,000,000 check for hosting the show was the main factor in him not saying anything prior. High profile musicians and actors are pretty much cut out of the same cookie cutter. I enjoy them for their talent and hard work, but I don’t focus on their personal beliefs.
  3. We all live totally different lives than each other...... Imagine what a homeless person might think of me purchasing a $1600 guitar, while he or she is sleeping outside in the cold. i just think this Ricky individual is no better than who he ridicules.... As I’m sure there are plenty telling him “how great he is all day long.”
  4. I’ve seen this as well.... I just hit it then exit and hit it again and the list appears
  5. To me it has that Barry Goudreau Boston tone.... which is an SG type tone
  6. Doesn’t sound like a strat to me.... But great playing and a nice looking axe.
  7. He wasn’t funny to me..... it more sounded like a drunk windbag at a local watering hole.... So maybe in that setting it might have been...... well cute....
  8. I dunno...... To me if one feels they have to be vulgar and graceless to be funny, then it’s not..... But to each their own.
  9. Hoped y’all had a great holiday season and now that it’s all but over I thought I should treat myself to another Les Paul... and in this case a 2009 Traditional. It comes loaded with Sigil Chicago 68 Set and of course I’ll change out the bridge to a Faber ABR and an aluminum tailpiece. Funny thin is this guitar has been sold a few times on Reverb at different points during its life... so see the images.... I hope to have it in my hands by Thursday.
  10. The White Album.... It taught me how to play acoustic and lead guitar
  11. I'm not a huge fan, but I really dig this song by them.
  12. All Just received word the Site Admin has updated security key.
  13. LOL!!!! Good detective work......
  14. My first concert was the The Letterman and Doc Severinson opened for them.... (1971) and I was 7 years old. I was actually blown away by Doc. My Dad in the same year took me to see Andy Williams..... I remembered what a big voice.
  15. You're welcom.... Also KSDaddy needs a shout out.... He's the primary spam bug spray around here.
  16. Has anyone got back to you? I'm wondering if your cookies settings have changed
  17. folks The recent spam bomb has been eradicated. Thanks for reporting.... I just realized I can moderate and effectively deal with spam through my smart phone, which I couldn't do on the old forum setup.
  18. In my experience the the 74-80 Les Paul's have the worst fret dressing of all time. The frets are so low and flat, that bending strings are a struggle, that I end up re-fretting all my guitars of that era. As for sound, the Les Paul's with Tim Shaw era pickups are to me by far the best sounding pickups Gibson has ever released. Fretboard playability, 1990 to current Les Paul builds are the most finger friendly to me. Looks, for me The Norlin era Les Pauls look the best IMO. I like the large headstock, Gibson engraving on the tuners, and in 1972 the Gibson embossed pickup covers.
  19. I'll be surprised if they are. If they don't fit let me know.... i have set of nickel dog ear p-90 covers off a 67 Casino you can take off my hands.
  20. congrats!!! I think I would throw some double cream pups on the new girl!!!!
