  1. Respectfully, The wording is vague.. It would be difficult to prove by those words that a Retailer has any more responsibility than the courtesy to assist if they so desire.. There is nothing stating a Retailers responsibility to Repair or Replace the Guitar.. Or give the Customer a full Refund.. In my interpretation it is at the discretion of the Retailer whether or not they want to extend their courtesy… Perhaps you could represent the OP & help him get it repaired, replaced or return for refund by the Retailer?
  2. No. All it says is contact your Dealer for the handling & resolution….. Nothing about them being responsible for anything other than, possibly, courtesy…. As the old saying goes….. The big print giveith but the fine print taketh away…..
  3. It says nothing about the Retailer having any responsibility for Warranty Repair.. They are referred to as a Courtesy for Customers… If I were the OP I would go around them at this point & deal directly with Gibs USA Customer Service… It has been done by another member of this Forum & Gibson replaced the Guitar with a new one…
  4. I’d love for someone to post Europes Gibson Warranty.. I want to see where it says “The Retailer is responsible for Warranty Repairs on Guitars”…. In the USA….. I would think Gibson Warranty is the same everywhere….. Retailers can be Gibson Authorized Warranty Centers… Or as a “Courtesy” they might repair, replace or do returns & full refunds.. But, Courtesy”…
  5. I like both Maple & Mahogany.. I particularly like Ebony as well. I play them all with much enjoyment!
  6. There is a Thread here about a member of this Forum who lives in Europe. About a year ago he went thru the same hassle as you… He finally gave up with the Retailet & communicated directly to Gibson Customer Service & iniated a Warranty Claim with Gibson. He sent them the Guitar.. It couldn’t be repaired so they sent him a brand new replacement that was perfect… It was not without hassle, it did take time & he had to pay Shipping but it ended up good for him… As I’ve mentioned previously I’ve gone through it with my Gibson J-160E, Gibson ES Les Paul & an Epiphone Casino.. The J-160E & ES Les Paul are perfect.. The Casino was replaced with a new one which was also perfect….
  7. Here is the Gibson Warranty.. If you’re outside the Return period anything the Retailer does is a courtesy.. If you read the Warranty it says nothing about the Retailer having any responsibility as to the Warranty… But, Gibson has an excellent Warranty. It is not hassle free though.. You will have to deal directly with Gibson Customer Service & will have to pay Shipping for the Guitar to be sent to Gibson for repair or replacement… If you don’t want to do that, it’s your decision… Again… Good luck.. https://www.gibson.com/en-US/Support/Warranty/Gibson#:~:text=Gibson Warranty Your new Gibson instrument is warranted, subject to the limitations contained in this warranty.
  8. I’m not upset.. I’ve tried to help many like you. Some finally figure it out, some don’t. You can go to Gibsons website & read the Warranty. Do your due diligence up front about everything re; the Instrument, the Return, Exchange Policy & Warranty info… Having been your situation on a few Guitars over the years & learned the process to achieve successful results I pay it forward.. If people don’t want my advice, no sweat.. If you’re within the Return period, return it. Get your money back. Buy a Guitar elsewhere.. If you don’t want to, no sweat. If you want get jerked around, no sweat. If you end up past the Return period & stuck with a Guitar you’ll never be happy with, no sweat…. I wish you good luck…
  9. I had one of those too in the 70’s.. It may have been the 3340? Great R to R! Before that I had a 2 Track Sony R to R with SOS that could Bounce Tracks. Since then I’ve had Tascam Cassette Portastudios, 16 Track ADAT’s, Tascam 2488 Portastudio, Pro Tools & now Logic Pro X… IMO Logic Pro X is the best of all of them so far..
  10. It’s sad if you only think one Guitar Co. makes great Guitars.. There are many Co’s. That do.. Gibson would be the first to admit it.. Fender, Gretsch, Guild, Martin, Collings & many others…… I’m blessed to own several different Guitars by different great Manufacturers.. Gibson being one of them..
  11. No. You have a receipt of Purchase from the Retailer if you buy New.. They have no Warranty obligation unless they sell an Extended Warranty or you negotiate it into your Deal.. The Warranty is from the Manufacturer… You all should read your Receipts & your Warranty’s.. If you’re in the Return period & decide not to return it & get your money back, then shame on you.. Do what you want.. I’ve been through it several times with Warranty repairs with Gibson, Epiphone, Fender & Martin. All were bought from different Retailers.. Some Retailers have Guitar Techs & may be Factory Authorized Warranty Repair Centers. Still, the Warranty is from the Manufacturer.. I’ve been there done that several times.. I’ve had this same conversation on this & other Forums…. I’m worn out trying to help… Good luck
  12. No.. The Warranty is with Gibson. The Retailer has no Warranty responsibility other than a courtesy.. There are other Threads here & on other Forums just like this.. They got nowhere with the Retailer other than returning it & getting their money back or exchanging for another. The Retailer has no Factory Warranty responsibility.. The Factory does.. You have to call Gibson & deal directly with them. USA or Europe.. Returning it is your most simple solution.. Get a different one.. Why go through all the BS?
  13. Someone’s playing games with you.. Return it & get your Money back.. Never do business with that Store again. Buy elsewhere.. Deal directly with Gibson on Warranty issues.. Don’t waste time talking to a Store.. They got your money. That’s all they want.
  14. Recording with DAW’s has a Learning Curve for sure.. You Tube is your friend.. But, when you need Tech Support… Apple Creative Media Tech Support is the Best.. No cost. Pro Tools offshore Tech Support sucks & requires a annual fee… Pro Tools & Logic are the Industry Standards.. Everything else is probably ok…. Just depends on what you’re trying to achieve..
  15. I recommend looking at Logic Pro X… For a thousand reasons… Drums being one…
  16. I’ve used Pro Tools for the past 9 years.. Recently bought a new iMac & had it loaded with Logic Pro X.. I’ve been using it & like it. Both are Industry Standards & are great choices.. Apple has far superior Tech Support based in the USA. With English speaking Reps I can understand. No offense intended. No 45 minute wait times either! Logic seems to have more in the way of standard Plugins.. No annual Fee like Protools if you want to stay current, have a warranty & Tech Support.
  17. Which is why I don’t the asking Price is way crazy for that caliber Guitar…. Somebody is going to get a great Guitar!
  18. I like that ‘63 J200N! I would love to hear this one! Only $12,300! How crazy is that considering a new one is$5000-$6000?
  19. Yeah…. Me too… I buy Online too sometimes.. But, I’m very selective.. I want Pictures of the actual Guitar, all Specs & the Weight…. Plus, all you mentioned…
  20. There’s that too.. Part of my point in my earlier Post..
  21. What about Gibson’s Record deal with Slash? How much are they pumping into that? Recording? Touring? Marketing & Promotion? Etc?
  22. One persons loss is someone else’s gain.. In the end someone will make some Money.. What is the time spent playing all those Guitars worth? 0? Almost impossible to put a price on that..
