  1. I wanted to see The Stones once more but after watching some their current tour performances I think I’d rather remember them from back in the day… I’m looking forward to getting back to doing live Gigs with a couple Bands I’ve played with for the past several years….. That’s more exciting to me right now…
  2. Welcome to the Forum.. Nice Studio! The Bigsby is a cool upgrade to your Guitar.. In my experience adding the Bigsby has made my Guitars more versatile & better sounding.. Also, better looking! I’ve used Vibramates in the past which also allows you to return it to original Stock without drilling any holes.. They work great.. I am curious about the Comptons? What’s different? Unfortunately nether can be used on my new Royal Tan USA Epiphone Casino.. I really want to put a Bigsby B-7 on it but will have to drill holes.. It will be a permanent upgrade.. But, it’s ok, I’m a Bigsby Guy.
  3. The new USA Epiphone Casino’s are up $300.00 to MAP $2999.00..
  4. The Style label on yours says Gloss… My new Royal Tan USA Epiphone Casino says the model name E230TD on the Blue label.. My Case is Gray outside & stamped Epiphone. The inside is Blue…
  5. You’re better off making the Phone Call. Emails are usually unanswered..
  6. The new Epiphone USA Casinos just went up $300.00. Now MAP is $2999.00.
  7. Thin Picks give a brighter tone on all Guitars.. What you call the Nectar tone. Medium Picks are less Bright & Heavy Picks are even less Bright on all Guitars… The thicker the Pick the thicker the Sound.
  8. Funny but appears to be true! 😀
  9. Then there was the Pandemic…. Hopefully yours will come much sooner.
  10. I ordered a new Epiphone USA Casino over a year ago.. They’re built at the Nashville ES Factory… I finally got about 3 weeks ago.. Although, the new USA Casino is a new Build for the factory & may explain the long wait time…
  11. There needs to be a new alternative good for the Seller & the Buyer with a minimum of Fees…
  12. Did you order direct from Gibson, a Store or an Online Retailer?
  13. Reverbs higher Fees & higher Shipping costs enter it for sure…
  14. I grew up poor not getting what I wanted. I was determined to change that. Now I can get pretty much anything I want but the trip getting to this stage has taught me many things. One being discipline. I don’t go crazy but once in a while when I do buy a Guitar, I get what I want. But, I do my due diligence.. As far as the Gear & the Deal… Currently, this is a great time to Sell…
  15. Prices on Used have gone way up too.. Some are more than New! It’s crazy!
  16. Right.. I doubt anyone else will either….. Inflation is here…
  17. Here’s a link to a Casino from a few years ago. D ‘Adarrio Strings are listed on the Specs at the bottom of the page.. https://www.epiphone.com/Guitar/EPIBDM867/Casino/Natural
  18. I own several Epiphones & Gibsons.. IMO Gibson USA P90’s & many USA Humbuckers in Gibson’s & Epiphone’s sound much better than their Asian versions…. Same with Pots, Caps, Jack’s, Inputs, Nuts, Tuners & other parts of the Guitars…. That said both Gibson’s & Epiphone’s are great Guitars..
  19. Here is an a spec sheet from Epiphone for one of my older Casino’s.. Notice the Strings they use at the bottom.. D ‘Adarrios.. https://www.epiphone.com/Guitar/EPIBDM867/Casino/Natural
  20. In July 1975 my wife bought me a new Martin D-35 for my Birthday.. This coming July it will turn 46 years old… I don’t recall it ever sounding anything but great! Though Age & Playing has improved it’s Sound & Tone… Now in 2021 it sounds better than ever!
  21. Gibson used D ‘Adarrios for a long time.. I believe they even branded some as Gibsons but not positive they still do.. That said, they were fine Strings & I still use them on some of my Electric Guitars.. My Gibson J-160E & my Martin D-35 are Electric & IMO of the numerous Strings, of all price ranges I’ve used the past 20 years, the Martin Retros are the only ones that sound good playing Electric or Unplugged.. All the others are one trick ponies..
  22. The body appears to be be mahogany & the Finish looks to matte. I’d make a Phone Call, not email or text, to Gibson Customer Service & ask whats the best way to clean the body, Pickups, Tuners etc. If you know your way around Electronics check & repair as needed… Put a new set of Strings on it & see how it plays & sounds. Adjust the Neck relief, Bridge & intonation.. Bear in mind people pay additional $1000’s for old looking distressed Guitars with Patina that look like they’ve been rode hard… I wouldn’t obsess about making it look pretty & new.. Just that it’s excellently set up, plays great & everything works as it should.. Then play it in memory of your Dad.. That would be cool..
  23. Good luck with that! Wait til you look at Used Prices! They’re even more crazy! It’s a different World! Some of these Guys are asking more than New!!! Due to the Pandemic, increased costs for raw materials, lack of labor, world wide distribution difficulties etc. Supply & Demand has created a Sellers Market for everything.. Gas has doubled in the past year.. Everything costs more.. Anyone who thinks Prices will go back to the way they were before is dreaming. There’s a new reality…
