  1. I would look at the Guitar Center website to see what these are going for used there to get a pricing estimate. This is a 2015 and they sold poorly due to the tuners and headstock graphics. It will fetch lower than a similar classic from a different year.
  2. They were essential for me to graduate.
  3. Why doesn’t Gibson release an updated version of that? I would buy it, if they put on a Floyd or a Kahler.
  4. I am familiar with the SG that the OP is referring to, it is a limited edition available only through AMS and Zzounds. If Sweetwater was selling it, I don’t think it would be any better because my experience is they don’t pay that good of attention either. I posted previously about my 2018 RD and the mess that Sweetwater sent me...
  5. I bought a 2014 Gibson SG Futura and the first 2 were messes that had to go back. I waited a few years and picked up a used one for under $500 and it was a winner. I think you were right to send them back but I wouldn’t risk a third time. Just my opinion though.
  6. I have one. I bought it from Zzounds for $799 in May. Setup was horrible on it but I fixed it. The finish is thin and not smooth. Now that it is set up, it plays great and sounds great. It has a very 2017 SG standard sound to it. I bought it because it is the color of my car.
  7. I really like the top on that!
  8. That is a nice looking bird whether it says Gibson or Epiphone.
  9. OP, I have a Malia Artisan RD and I have the same issue with mine, it is as if the dummy coil isn’t there.
  10. I think we are getting there. Let’s just say that the thread is getting uh wild...
  11. I have a have 6 Norlins and they are mostly quirky models like the Marauder, Corvus, L6-S and Invader. I like the fact that they are different. I also like that they are affordable.
  12. You have still stated nothing to justify your point on 2015 models. You have listed no personal experience. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean the quality is bad.
  13. I kind of agree with you that the 2014 models had some quality issues having owned 5 of them but the 2015 models were substantially higher quality than most Gibson years from my experience owning 13 models from 2015. What are you basing your opinion on? Just because you didn’t like the tuners doesn’t mean the quality is bad.
  14. The sight of real binding confuses Rev 6.
  15. What pickups do you think you would go for on this?
  16. The Malia is definitely a keeper. I have only had it for a day now so I have done no tinkering with it yet. Overall the quality is very nice. If I had to do it over again, I would still buy both of them.
  17. As luck would have it, I acquired an Epiphone Lee Malia Artisan RD and there are pros and cons. First, the fit and finish on the Epiphone is vastly superior to the Gibson. The Gibson fit and finish is not good but the Epi is flawless. There is no neck dive either. As far as electronics go, the Gibson is definitely superior with the active pickups. The P90 on The Malia is super noisy, especially considering the dummy coil and that it is a Gibson pickup. The bridge pickup on the Malia is perfect for Bring Me The Horizon music. If you want to distort the neck pickup, use a noise gate. Pictures will be coming. Hopefully I will be motivated enough to do a YouTube video.
  18. I am not a fan of them as I find they are too muddy with moderate to high gain.
