LarryUK
And how could we even have this debate without Bonnie? I went to see Bonnie last week in Birmingham UK. I had a front row seat. Great night.
Californiaman
You know, I've been kind of "stuck in a rut" lately (sound familiar?). I've also been "toying" with slide guitar. After watching all the vid's in this thread, I think I've got some new incentive! Think I'm gonna be working on the slide stuff for a while! Thanks to all who've posted. Incentive indeed! A new direction indeed. Glad you're on your way out of the rut you were in. Slide guitar is just the thing ya' need, Dennis. Don't forget that the action might need a little tweeking. Good luck. Californiaman
Jaxson, I love the pedal steel guitar playing here. Neil Flanz once sent me an email telling me that he he used a Showbud pedal steel guitar and "Two" Electro Harmonix distortion boxes on this recording. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVicqftnKrg
jaxson50
Neil Flanz is awesome, they just don't make them like these guys now a days...
Dennis G
Don't forget that the action might need a little tweeking. Good luck. Yep. I had my Gretsch 5122 set up for slide with a bit of a higher action a while back, and kept it in open E tuning. Reverted back to original setup/tuning sometime ago but will probably adjust as things go along. Any and all slide suggestions welcomed!
