Just Bought my 1st Epiphone Les Paul

I've mentioned before that I don't care for the LP shape/feel at all - but my "baby" brother does. He said his Epi LP was the best playing guitar he'd had his hands on. He could afford about anything he wanted and tried batches of instruments in the "big city" environment he likes.

My electric Epis - two Dots to be exact - are quite nice and as recent versions, have more than adequate pups and stuff. I'd have to believe the recent LP Epis are as good.

Hey Brother - IT'S HERE!!!!!! Whoa! [thumbup]

The fit & finish are flawless. The set up is perfect. The intonation, neck action all were perfect out of the box. No fret buzz no issues - nothing but perfect action, tone & playability. I am very impressed with the quality of this instrument & very pleased I purchased it. [wub]

Most of you know I have a bevy of Gibson guitars and I was looking very closely to find something not to like about this cheaper version and something to say emphatically that would justify some sort of cork sniffing condescending comment on my part and I can't. It's better than expected on a variety of levels. I just spent the past 2 hours playing her as hard as possible assuming the tuners would not hold tune - and it has held perfectly. I am very impressed & will not rule out looking at other Epiphones going forward due to my purchase pleasure with this one. Gotta go play some more - will take photos later, Woo Hoo! [thumbup]

I'm not only green with envy,I'm chartreuse. Pelham blue is my favourite colour from the Gibson family colour chart and she is stunning in it.If you're not accustomed to the coil tapping, you'll love it.Coil tap really adds incredible range to it's tone spectrum and overall versatility.I found on my Trad. Pro Les Paul that when I had the fromt pickup tapped and the rear pickup still in humbucker mode but with the volume rolled back a bit to compensate for the higher impedance,I got a sound that I never heard on any guitar,it was addictive-especially at high volume. You won't get a Strat like quack from the single coil mode,it's more like a cross between a Jaguar and a Mustang-not that this would be a bad thing.Anyway congrats and enjoy your new baby.

You are absolutely correct. I spent most of last evening running her through all of her settings and I truly can't get a bad voicing out of her. I do believe that Epiphone has come a long way from not so many years ago when (to my ears) some of the models pickups sounded weaker and muddy in comparison to their Gibson counterparts - at least with this one not so much. I haven't put any pedals to her yet just pure tone through a tube amp. Happy Sunday everyone!

Here ya go cap! Enjoy the Pelham Blue Porn [biggrin] I love the fact this is an all mahogany body - no maple cap on this one boys. The resonance is wonderful. Here's the link to pics of mine! [thumbup]

Daaarn beautiful "lady actor" you have there... And as for the mahogany, a real "Custom" girl should feature a very consistent surface all around her. ;)

put her straight to the leather "casting couch" I see........

I also see some nice graining thru the Blue, the Poly must be super thin, which is really good.

and yep, if it makes you smile, it shickles the titt out of me !!!

Share the opinion on graining and coat. Although not transparent, the "clothing" allows for viewing the shape of every detail. [rolleyes]

You have no idea how accurate that comment is. It's almost scary. I'm going to check my livingroom for web cams now... [wink]

[laugh][biggrin][thumbup]

One can never be sure. [mellow]

Glad to hear this from you. These modern "girls" are astonishingly flexible. Sadly their number is limited. [biggrin]
