I hook straight from the reel to reel, right to a CD recorder. My reel to reel is a Teac, that is older than dirt. In fact it did not even have rca coonnections on it. My friend is an electronics whiz, and he modified my reel to reel with rca jacks. That way I can connect right from the tape recorder to the CD recorder. I have a lot of old music from the 40s through the 70s on the tapes I literally have days of non stop music. It took me a long time to list each song, or album by the tape hour reading on the reel to reel, but if I want a certain song or album, I just look at the list, and it will tell me at what time on the tape so I can locate it.
