The burst is not as gradual as a Gibby burst, but it's different and damn good!I have a Martin D15 that I love; I'm a big fan of all hog guitars. It was someone signature edition, Pete something? It was a great guitar. At least, I think it was. UPS destroyed it in shipment. :( I did get my money back, though, as I recall, through insurance. I settled on it while trying to find a Martin, but I couldn't find an old one for sale, and the new ones, they weren't any good (though I DID play every single one hoping).
