cliffenstein
http://www.epiphone.com/News/Features/2016/Ltd-Ed-Blue-Royale-Collection.aspx I'd buy one if they would have included a Les Paul Custom.
fromnabulax
I'm still considering the new fancy shmantzy ES295s that are being reintroduced, but $1,000.00 and an additional $120.00 for case is getting a bit steep for an Epiphone.

Campbell
The jury's still out on them for me. I'd have to see them in person. From the pix, the basses look pretty good in this color. Just doesn't have that "rock 'n roll" vibe for me, personally. That's just my two cents, your opinion may vary.
kidblast
Thanks, wasn't sure never saw those pups before Hey Doug, they are called "SwingBuckers" in the standard wiring scheme they are out of phase, to get them to do the "humbucker" sound, pull out the tone pots. When they are "in" they have a bit of a weak/twangy tone, (that is no doubt trying to get into the "Gretch" atmosphere, in both looks and sound in the standard "tone pots in" setting. it's not a bad sound, but not really filtertron sounding to my ears) more Teleish I think. When you pull out the tone pots, and you get a pretty thick PAF sound out of them with decent clarity and bite, and are pretty good at resisting feedback, so you can sort of crank this axe despite the hollow body design. the bridge is pinned so it wont move on you. The bigsby adds a nice touch. All things considered, if you're into the 16" hollow body trip, this is a real nice ride. I have a white royale. I don't play it a ton, but when I do, I realize how much fun it is to play! They come stock with 11s with a wound G but they can be set up with 10's with no issues. The frets on these are the biggest I've ever played on. I had to do some dressing as there were a few high frets in the middle registers.

jmendoza
Solid color guitars always make me wonder just what the wood looks like under the finish. It is a great way to utilize the wood that has flaws in it because they cannot be seen. It is common knowledge that the best wood is carefully sorted, graded and set aside for use in natural finish (blonde) guitars, and the ones with sunburst finishes have the flaws oriented where they will be covered up by the shading. It makes one wonder, doesn't it?
