ninety1vee
has anyone experience with both of these? i'm replacing my klusons and am curious about how the gotohs compare to schallers. (i'm talkin' the chrome keystone style from both companies)
Homz
Sorry man, I don't have the necessary comparative knowledge... like as if anyone would actually take me seriously if I did.

djroge1
I just checked all of my guitars, but don't have either of those. I thought the epi eilitist dot had grovers but it turns out that it has gotoh's. Sorry. You should check the guys on the Epi forum as this discussion sounds familiar and they may have some insight on the matter.
Basshole
I think you are better off getting grovers, they wont let you down.
Thundergod
I like my stock tuners, love the way they look (klusons). I have used schaller tuners and they are fine, but if I had any trouble with my stock tuners I would replace them with the same (kluson). But if you gotta change them... go with schaller. myspace.com/jessenoah
i cant help ya but grovers are reliable, inexpensive, and look good too!
Robin Nahum
My luthier advises that the Gotohs are cheaper and more durable than the Schallers. I use them on all my partscasters. RN
Dynadude
I've always liked the quality of Schallers. Less problems with the knob tension screws coming loose and such. Most any good name brand will do the job. Price and style are two main considerations, along with the gear ratio and whether they have locking features, of course. I'd never buy anything without locks, unless it was a replacement for a vintage piece.
Cruznolfart
I had these locking Gotohs installed on my custom when it was built. That's been a little over 10 years and they've been 100% reliable.
