Your guitar was made in Korea, on December, 1991

Production Number: 925

Thanks for the reply but I don;t think that information is correct from the guitar dater project. For instance, this guitar: https://reverb.com/item/150092-vintage-1980-s-epiphone-casino-as-antique-sunburst-mij-japan-matsumoku is said to be made in 1992 in Korea by the guitar date project but it was clearly made in Japan.

What in the Reverb.com photos identifies it as being from the Matsumoku factory in Japan?

Need help dating Casino?

My advice is to woo Casino in a gentlemanly fashion.

Don't move too fast.

Never try to get to 2nd base on the first date.

Be polite and respectful to her father.

Compliment him on his car or motorcycle.

And do your best to assure him that you have no untoward intentions with regard to Casino.

Pay for dinner, never insist on going dutch.

Leave your cell phone in the car when you are in the restaurant with her.

Never admire another guitars curves when you are in her company.

And if you do get to the point where she lets you handle her knobs and switches, do so gently and with great care.

That's about all I have.

Good luck, and remember, no Facebook bragging about the knobs and switches!

:) [crying] [scared]

Hi Lespaulist,

I have owned three of these Casino's in the past, and that is definitely a Made in Japan Matsumoku guitar.

The seven digit serial on the back of the headstock dates it to December 1981.

The tan label, the 16th fret neck to body joint, as well as that unique Gretsch like body outline, and three piece (length wise) maple neck, are all Matsumoku characteristics, and not found on the Korean made Casino's.

Steve.

Thanks, frechie. That's what I thought. I also thought that this guitar was one of the earlier runs on at the Matsumoku plant because the tuners have the epiphone logo on the back.
