Larsongs
I recently acquired a Ltd. Edition Epiphone Peerless Casino with Bigsby in a Vintage a Sunburst. Production was about 1000 Guitars. It's Mint, Like New! I love it. Beautiful in all respects except for maybe the Pickups. They are the Asian P90's not USA Gibson P90's. Ok but not great. Why they skimped on them I don't know? It is essentially a Reissue of George Harrisons' & Paul Mc Cartneys' Casinos. The Guitar has Chrome Dogear Covers which look great & I don't want to change them. The chrome Covers really add to the Guitars appearance IMO. Question? Will Gibson USA P90's fit under these Asian Spec Chrome Dogear Covers? The reason I ask is because Gibson Chrome/Nickel USA Spec Dogear Covers are unavailable to the Public from Gibson & everywhere else? I'm considering Fralin, Lollar & Duncan P90's as well but the same question applies to all of them. Thanks, Lars PS please excuse the Double Post. I'd remove one but can't find the remove function? Larsongs
What year was your guitar made? 2006 here's a link to Epiphones website http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Archtop/Casino-w-Bigsby.aspx
Larsongs
2006 here's a link to Epiphones website http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Archtop/Casino-w-Bigsby.aspx I stand corrected. I decoded the Serial Number & it's a 2011 from the Qingdao Plant. It is Vintage Sunburst with a Bigsby. It looks exactly like the one in the above Link. There is a Ltd Edition Custom Shop label on the back of the Headstock also. Isn't there somewhere to find more out regarding the Specs of Epiphone Guitars? Like what the Pickups are? I know they're P90's but which P90's? Specs with measurements would be helpful. Why? If I want to swap the Pickups for USA Gibson P90's is it a simple swap or does it require more modifications due to the difference between Metric & Standard measurements? Thanks, Lars

cookieman15061
I had the same casino. The pickups were the only thing I left stock. Changed the wiring, pentometers, tuners, toggle switch and nut. Eventually sold it to fund another guitar but the mods made it a much better axe.
Riffster
I had one of those for a while but never bonded with the neck/narrow nut width. The P90s were hot on mine, I think they measured around 13kohms and really liked the way they sounded. As for replacing them, I remember reading that you have to send the pickup in so they could de-solder the pickup and solder the new one for you. Larsongs
Not to come off like a smart ***, but why don’t you just measure it yourself? I did & there is a slight difference. I'm wondering if the Gibson USA P90's will interchange using the existing Chrome Dogear Covers without having to make any modifications? fretplay
Well I guess it's each to his own but I have a USA made ES 330 1966 and a Casino 1984 made in Japan and I much prefer the MIJ sound any day.
