theguitar
Hello, I have bouht a Gibson SG Standard 2019, it comes with 490R and 490T , I really don't like this set, I already have a spare set of BB1 and BB2 , could be a good replacement? Other suggestions? Thanks
Marky Forrest
IMO, the BB1 & 2 really shine on a guitar with coil splitting so they may be a very good choice for you. I have Classic 57/57+ in my 2017 Gibson SG Standard HP and love their tone.

Sgt. Pepper
Rio Grandes or Bare Knuckles. Never cared for SD or Dimarzio. Edited January 8, 2020 by Sgt. Pepper
merciful-evans
Its really down to your own taste. I cant get a usable sound with BBs at any setting. My Gibsons are both 57 classics. I use them clean or with low gain only. Like Sgt Pepper I don't much like any Duncans, but Bare Knuckle Stormy Mondays sound superb.
Strong Heavy
Remove the 490T and install a 498T, you will have an incredible set, the 490T is not a good humbucker but this one sound better on a Les Paul. I have an SG Special loaded with Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1, fantastic set.
badbluesplayer
It's worth a try. BB1 & 2 have a little edge to them that might match up well with the SG.
