Watched CBGB last night.  Cool documentary... cameos from Ramones, Blondie, Dead Boys, Iggy Pop...    was cool to here the story of Hilly Kristal and start of punk.

I watched something last night called Punk Revolution: NYC. It was about the same thing you are talking about. It was over 3 hours long and was great!  Saw it on Amazon Prime video.  It wasn't just about CBGBs. It has Max's Kansas City, and other clubs as well. Much of it was about the Velvet Underground as well and how they started the whole thing. They had much about the bands you mentioned, plus, Patti Smith, Television, Talking Heads, Heartbreakers, New York Dolls,  etc.

This was all about the roots of the Punk scene in NY during the late sixties and early seventies. One of the best, most informative documentaries I have ever seen on the subject.

Maybe it was different.
