zombywoof
Both you guys got it right. The request was for opinions/recommendations regarding Gibsons with something less than a 16" lower bout. So that would leave you with Bozeman takes on the L1, L00 and LG2/3.
egoidealmusic
Haha neither a mandolin nor a Martin post, but I'm loving the conversation that's being had! As far as a Martin, though, I have been considering one of their 00017Es in the black smoke. Love that tuxedo look. Anyone played one? Larsongs
I suggested Martin as something different as opposed to adding another Spruce Top, Mahogany Back & Sides Guitar with a similar Sound to the Guitars the OP already has…. I have a wonderful Acoustic Electric Gibson Bozeman Masterbilt J-160E with P90 which, IMO, is the top sounding Round Shoulder Gibson Acoustic Guitar I’ve ever played… Spruce & Mahogany.. I also own an Acoustic Electric 1975 Martin D-35 which is a fantastic sounding Guitar but it has a totally different Sound… Spruce & Rosewood.. Now I’m considering another Acoustic Electric Guitar but something different than either of the above… I’m thinking about a Guitar with Maple Top, Sides & Back.. Or maybe one with Spruce top & Maple back & sides.. A completely different Sound than my Gibson & Martin… Best of luck with your Search….. egoidealmusic
So to swing this forum back around to where it started, I'm seriously considering an LG-2. Have my eyes on a couple on Reverb--one's a just barely used 50s LG-2 in natural and the other is a 2013 custom shop LG-2 in all mahogany. Have been reading some reviews of it and folks either love it ("it's so mellow and beautiful") or hate it ("it's to mellow and flat"), and am curious if any of you have played/owned one of these. Potential dark horse in the running is a Martin 00017E in black smoke. Love the tuxedo look. Edited April 1, 2022 by egoidealmusic
Dave F
I owned one and was so impressed with it it sent me searching for a vintage one. I found one then sold the newer one.
egoidealmusic
Which did you own, Dave?
Dave F
I bought this one from John Thomas then used his advise on the purchase of the vintage one I found Then had a good friend do a comparison of my two guitars Edited April 2, 2022 by Dave F
egoidealmusic
That's a beautiful guitar--great sound. Hmmm...that CS all hog is looking better and better to me. Seems a bit overpriced at 2999, but I'm not sure what they should be going for these days.

Personally I would pay that much for it. If it’s on Reverb you can always make an offer. Edited April 2, 2022 by Dave F
BluesKing777
What about a banjo? BluesKing777.
egoidealmusic
Thanks, Dave. Another sold at some point for a grand less, though I can't tell when it was sold, so that doesn't help me (if someone knows how to tell on this guirar the price history please let me know). I'd love to have it, but not for that much!
egoidealmusic
And I'd thought about a 6 string banjo Bluesking77 (because I'm too old to start a new instrument), but I don't think I'd play it that often.
