RamblinJack
I recently purchased one from the Everly website after my cart emptied on the Gibson site and it was classes as out of stock. The Gibson site claims only 30 would be made. I received the guitar with 48hrs and it had the worst finish to any new guitar I've ever seen (see picture). There is nothing on the the label or the certificates that show anything about it being limited to 30, and the Everly website makes no reference to that claim either. I noticed the cases have also been cheapened. What a shame. I'm shocked it got through Gibson QA/QC. I have three custom shops - J200-TV 1958, J-180EB and J160e1961. All from 2010-2015 and they are beautiful. What's gone wrong at Gibson....!? Everly return pictures.pdf
Sgt. Pepper
It does say 30 will be made. What is wrong with the finish? I saw the pic, but I can't tell what you think is wrong with it.
Eracer_Team
Are you talking about the sitka spruce wood grains under the black finish??
Brucebubs
Looks like the super thin VOS nitro finish on my Historic 1957 SJ-200.
jdgm
It does look a bit like the 'orange peel' effect you can get when a car's paintwork is badly finished. And the area round the low E string end of the bridge too.
