Californiaman Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 This one of my favorite shows when I was in high school. We'd come home after school and sit down and watch the Gong Show everyday. Steve Martin and who can forget this performance Have You Got A Nickel
axuality Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I loved Gene Gene the dancing machine. How cool.
Rocky4 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I remember when it debuted. It was serious for a few weeks and then it went bananas. Gallagher and Pee Wee Herman got their start there. I'm gonna play my tuba!!!!!!
FirstMeasure Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I was just a kid, but i remeber this and the Muppet Show were my favorites. I can't believe that Oingo Blongo, they needed Danny Elfman's Musical Direction. The Horns were impressive.
Californiaman Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Elfman's one of those musical genius guys. Didn't he do the music score for the first Batman Movie?
FirstMeasure Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Elfman's one of those musical genius guys.Didn't he do the music score for the first Batman Movie? Yeah, and The Simpsons and countless other High Profile Projects. He was the Singing Voice in Nightmare Before Christmas and Scored the movie, of course. He's great with Incidental Music, but my favorite stuff was Oingo Boingo. Dark and Poppy at the same time. Very different stuff, and Steve Bartek is one Underrated Guitar Player.

Cal so you know I was exposed to them quite a bit. I regret never seeing them in concert though. Their annual Halloween Show was always a big thing.

I LOVED the Muppets!
Homz Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 This growing trend towards classic black & white movie star avatars is making me wonder if you lack the depth that color brings to all good pictures. That or you lack sufficient cones in your retina's to know your posting non color pics.

FirstMeasure Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I was just doing my impersonation of Beaker at work the other night! I LOVED the Muppets! ralph the Dog was always my favorite, he was Cool and played piano. Although Sam the eagle made me laugh more.
Californiaman Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 I always liked Animal the drummer in the band.
Californiaman Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 Classic avatars are cool. But if you want, I'll put my Hawaiian girl back up.

Homz Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 No, no if it works for you, that's fine. I'm just being my usual sleep starved a$$ of a me.
wicked1 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I've read that Keith Moon was the inspiration for Animal.
Homz Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Wicked1 quote of the day, as observed and heard by me: "It is better to ride on a yak then to yak on a monk." Words to live by...yeh, words to live by.
FirstMeasure Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 See Holmz, color's cool, but it just doesn't jump out like a Black and White.
Homz Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 See Holmz' date=' color's cool, but it just doesn't jump out like a Black and White.[/quote'] Yeah, but I like that faded Tecno-color from the 60's and early 70's. That's my time. Not the B/W from the 50's and before.
