Jim Beard dies at63.

This is terrible news.  My God.

I have many, many jazz and 'fusion' albums with Jim Beard on.  

He was absolutely dependable - could play anyone's music - which is why he got called by so many people for so many recordings.

I saw him play live with Wayne Shorter.  He was in McLaughlin's band, recorded and played with Scofield, Metheny, both of the Breckers and sax player  Bill Evans as well as playing on and producing albums by Mike Stern and Bob Berg.   The guy was at the highest level.

Unbelievable that he is suddenly no longer with us.  A tremendous musician and composer - he will be (and no doubt already is) very  much missed.

R.I.P. Jim.

We are glad that my wife and I had an opportunity to see him and the band before the Eagels came out. I was shocked to hear of his death like 3 weeks later.
