A rising Canadian folk singer was killed by coyotes this week in a national park in Nova Scotia, a park spokesman said Thursday.Taylor Mitchell, 19, was at the beginning of the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park on Tuesday afternoon when she was attacked, according to Chip Bird, the Parks Canada field unit superintendent for Cape Breton.

Bird said hikers saw the coyotes attacking Mitchell and called 911. She was airlifted to a hospital in Halifax, where she died about 12 hours later, he said.

Well, speaking from my 44 years in Texas, Kansas and Arizona I can tell you that they are solitary animals for the most part. They pack up now and then, you can hear the noise they make, but they rarely attack anything as big as they are.

Stacks the odds in their favor.

In the desert, they will somtimes attack dogs dumb enough to think a coyote would want to play with them, but primarily subsist on rodents and reptiles with the odd rabbit.

Puppies on the loose? They're history.

Even wolves - though much more capable - are very unlikely to attack an adult human.

Odd story indeed.

Seriously, I wonder how big this gal was?

I mean, if she's like 4'11" and 85 pounds or something....

You think we can get some travel agency to give buckethead and petrucci free tickets to canada?

I know most agencies give you 1 free ticket for every 10 you buy... so what we should do is ask for forum member contributions, then we just buy 20 tickets, find 20 country players to give them to and use the 2 free tickets on BHead and JPetrucci.
