rocketman
Also, please tell us why you went with your particular one. I use CUBASE 5 (just updated from 4 to 5). I picked it because it does everything under the sun and I'm a geek who likes to tinker. I'll admit that the learning curve was a bit steep, but once I got it down I loved it. I also have Finale 2010, so I can write scores and then transfer the music with any sound I have onto CUBASE. I actually still have the 4 track tape recorder from my teen years and I can't believe what is possible these days.
ShredAstaire
I use Pro-Tools M-Powered...i made that choice because its pretty standard and some of my buddies also use it so I got some tutorials and we're able to collaborate easily....learning curve is steep also with Pro-Tools but i am always learning new stuff which is too much fun! New tricks and tips!

flyingarmadillo
I've got both CUBASE 4 and Reaper and tend to alternate depending on the project. Reaper is fine for the simple stuff, but I tend to Cubase for anything I think will get complex.
