Cruznolfart
Find somthing? I like it all Good to hear, Mark! It's sorta like time-travelling to listen to some of them now. I was in high school when I first enjoyed most of them.
stevef
Nice to listen to.. Thanks. I was at Brookstone's before Christmas, my son took me over to a display of USB connectable turntables.. "Dad, if we hooked one of those up, do you think we could play some of the records from the attic?"... I wonder what scratches and static would sound like through a computer? I'm glad you enjoyed it, Steve. I think I'd like to try one of those USB turntables, too. I have a couple hundred old, but not worn-out vinyl LP's that would cost a fortune to replace. There's software available that will edit some of that noise out when recording old vinyl.

James Allen
Hey Cruzn, I must be your long lost son! I dug every bit of that! Well, except maybe the Righteous brothers. Not a big fan of those guys. But every single one of the rest has played a role in my musical development. Those turkey rappers, way too close to home for me, being a southern boy and all. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with the Brothers when they were up-and-coming and making the college and armory circuit in the early 60s. Very cool dudes with incredible pipes. Hearing them in a laid-back setting, just goofing around with some tunes, they were even more impressive than on-stage. Course, I met **** and DeeDee, too...you won't see me bringing THAT up. I'm thinkin' AXE might need a visit from another Southern boy to explain things to him. :-

We could take our rigs and have us a damned good old fashioned jam with the Axe man. Maybe splain sum stuff to him in the process about southern boys. :-

Shnate McDuanus
Good stuff in this thread here. I dig all of it, I'll have you know. And The Stones' cover of "Mona" is excellent! I always liked that song. And yeah, it brought me back to this: The vocals aren't as stellar (well, I like them, but I don't know about anyone else,) but I've always found John Cipollina's (lead guitarist, with the heavily modded SG) playing to be very interesting. Oh, man, thanks! I've seen these guys so many times when I first moved to SF in '66. I picked up a hitcher and dropped him at his place on Page in the Haight. He invited me to a jam the next night in the basement. It was 1090 Page and these guys were among the other Bay Area rising stars that frequented the place for weekly jams. Members of the Airplane and Dead were also there. I never jammed with any of them but stood in the corner, helping the joints go back and forth, and enjoyed free concerts a few times. Shnate McDuanus
Cruzn, your QMS story sounds absolutely incredible. QMS is one of my all-time favorite bands. They made and interpreted some really fantastic music. Fans of Bo Diddley, too. Glad to see you guys enjoyed the video.

Seems funny now, skinny little white boys singing that stuff like we knew what we were singing about. LOL! Hey, it beat the hell outta playin' tackle-dummy!
