craigh
I just got one of the Chinese Casinos & I need to the change the pu's & pots. I was thinking of Duncan Antiquity P90 dog ears. What do you all think & what pots & new switch do I need? I'm looking for the "Get Back" "Ballad Of John & Yoko" sound. Craig
Riffster
I like the stock pickups on my Casino but mine is Korean so I do not know if there is a difference. and if the bibsgy makes a difference. Given the curvature of the pickup covers most likely you will have to use the stock covers. The pots do need to go, I have not changed them but cookieman has. Make sure whatever pickups you use have a good reputation for being quiet. P90s can get noisy.

pohatu771
I recommend changing the electronics without the pickups first and seeing what happens. A lot of people are quite satisfied with Epiphone P-90s. One thing to remember is the neck pickup - the Casino is slanted, the ES-330 and most other P-90s archtops aren't. I know Lollar has to use your existing covers to do Casino pickups (unless you don't care about the slant). If you do change, though, I like Seymour Duncan SP90s. I have them in my Spirit. flyingarmadillo
I've got a Korean Casino and the pickups aren't too bad. But you definitely need to put in a Switchcraft jack and switch.
cookieman15061
Yep, Switchcraft for the jack and 3 way. New pots are a must but I kept the stock p90s as they are quite good. I also went with a bone nut and chucked cheap tuners for some deluxe klusons. The upgrades changed the sound and tone dramatically. I was so frustrated with this axe (sound and tuning etc.) but she was to beautiful to give up on so had to upgrade. You'll be happy you did. Notes_Norton
I have a stock 1970 Kalamazoo ES-330 and a 2001 Peerless (MIK) Casino. I bought them both used. The Gibson has the original pups, the previous owner of my Casino put Duncan P90s in it. While the Gibson sounds better as an acoustic guitar, the Casino sounds better to me plugged in. The Duncans are hotter, have a clearer high end and warmer midrange. The previous owner of my Casino also put US sized switch and pots on it. I put the pickguard and witch hat knobs on.
