ChrisKevin
Do I have to drill to upgrade to Grover Imperials, or are the Kluson copy holes big enough? I love this guitar, but would like to retrofit Imperial tuners for the looks and added weight to balance this body heavy guitar.

Usually, they have hole size requirements, or shaft size measurements, so you'll know ahead of ordering, if it will work, or not. Can't remember if Grover has that same info, on their site, or not? Just checked the site... Grover Imperials need a 10mm (13/32") diameter hole, to fit properly. Hope that helps... CB
TWANG
wdmusic carrys grovers and klusons. including the new kluson waffle backs. call 1 800 449 9348 ext. 2 and they'll tell you immediately! if there's a problem it'll be a shaft or bushing conflict.. ask them to email you a pic of the waffle backs.. they look fantastic, will bolt right on.. and are heavier than standard klusons by some. Tell them Happy Pickin sent you! TWANG

tulsaslim
I just installed them on mine & we had to drill bigger holes. Well worth it, though. Those tuners look great!
TWANG
There's a grover that has a hole match . that is.. it's an Imperial style button on a Kluson shaped back.. with the over and under screw holes.. will replace what's in there and give you the Imperial buttons. http://www.wdmusic.com/media/images/products/tuners/ss_size1/150C.jpg http://www.wdmusic.com/imperial_3_per_side_chrome.html TWANG
