What guitar have I got? (Les Paul)

Recommended Posts

I've bought an Epiphone les Paul just this week,

And I really don't know what type it is.

Whether it's a regular Epiphone Les Paul Custom, or an Epiphone Les Paul ES... or something else.

I'm absolutely clueless!

I've got you some pictures here,

I hope somebody has the same guitar, and knows what type it is.

I've also got the serial number for you.

Serial Number: F 6070200

I hope someone can help me!

Peace and Love,

I was thinking the same, about it being an ES.

But I don't think it is. The ES has 'Les Paul model' written over the Headstock, and mine has... 4 triangles with a rectangular through them.

Also, mine has a border/lining all over the guitar.

to me' date=' it dont matter what it is.. that is one sexy *** guitar... and if you dont want it any more.. ill surly take it off your hands... :) [/quote']

No, I will keep it

It's just that I bought it yesterday, and I wanted to know what type it is

I think this is the Epiphone ES 175 Vintage Sunburst...but i haven't seen that headstock on those..may be a custom ES 175..?? and ya that was made in Korea..

Could be, although,

When I look for 'Epiphone ES 175' at google, I can't find pictures of guitars that look like mine.

If I'm not mistaken this model was called the " Elite ". Nothing to do with the later Elite or Elitist line. They were not built in Japan. Some of you more knowledgeable members feel free to correct me if Im wrong.

I remember reading about these too. I've been searching for the "Elite" but have come up blank.

Here is an ES Custom that was for sale:

PS: regardless of the model, that is a very nice looking guitar. HNGD.

Your sunburst looks like Vintage Cherry Sunburst --- that's the one that looks as though it's darkened over the years. The pickups are humbuckers --- to know more specifically what kind, you'd have to take them out and look at the back. They could be stock Epiphone humbuckers, or a previous owner might have replaced them with any of a number of after-market ones.

Well, I don't feel like take 'em out,

But my guitar was making a terrible noise, because of the plug for the cable was oxided (or something)

So he putted a new plug in, and he said my guitar had Gibson parts.

So I guess they're Gibson humbuckers.

What's exactly the difference between humbuckers, P90s en EMG's?

I've read things about "I want P90s on my guitar" and "I want EMG's on my guitar",

But what is the difference?
