Hi there. I was planning to buy a Casino Elitist, from Musicstore.de, my best option, I'm in Europe. It was going to arrive in february, but now it is the 1st of April. And I don't want to wait any longer now.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm looking for a very decent, good guitar, my budget is around 1000 euros, around 1300 dollars.

Thank you!

I'd recommend that you sit it out until the 1st April. #-o

Casinos are kind of unique, and the Elitist is the top of the line for the budget you are talking about. Besides, who knows when Epi/Gibson will call time on the Elitist Casino? You might be getting an investment level instrument by biding your time for another month and a half...

LS has a good point. It's quite a question.

I was gonna suggest this

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Elitist-Country-Deluxe-SemiHollow-Electric-Guitar?sku=518757

but it's higher priced than I thought.

that's assuming you could have found one.

I was just checking MF.. ten pages from high to low price.. and still not in your price range..

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?N=100001&Ns=P_Price%7c1&Ntk=All&Ntt=semi+hollow+electric+guitar&Nty=1&page=9&rpp=20

that page starts thier listing... maybe you can get an idea from that?

I like this:

It would be good to have both solid and hollow body guitars. You might consider getting something like an Epiphone G-400 now and save the rest of your money for the Elitist Casino when it comes in. Musicstore.de does have a good selection of guitars and it was fun looking through their products and seeing makers such as Framus that I'm not familiar with.

I don't know if MF ships out of the country or not..

Sweetwater is another good company, they might have a policy for that. I'd check them out for sure.

That's pretty iffy anyway for my taste.. I was mostly just suggesting their stock as something to look at and try to find over there.

The higher priced Agiles get good reviews.. and I think they do international shipping.

Not trying to steer this away from topic, question for TWANG - I see your signature

"line" mentions "a pile of harps". Are you familiar with Andreas Vollenwieder?

Specifically his "Dancing with the Lion" album? GOOOOOD Stuff for a ROCK HARPIST!

animal.. no I'm not. but I'll check that out.

on the other pc my soundcard is still funky on this.. I think I set it up wrong.

I've heard that name though.. so I bet you're right.

Does he do the absolute virtuoso as many notes as he can play in every song thing.. or does he

get some feeling in there and take a breath now and then.

Blues Traveller is hot but it just seems like he can never slow down.

With feeling . You won't see any on stage footage of him slamming his head up

and down as he plays, no metal finger signs. Try "Dancing with the Lion" Song

Album, too, if you can find it, he's a skilled Harpist that has chosen to play in an

unusual style. You'll probably like it.... I did and I listen to everything from good

classical to 80's rock, and even like Metallica's recordings they did with the

San Francisco Symphony Orchestra!! Really! On Youtube if you want it. Hmmm,

haven't tried andreas V. on youtube yet.....

Last night I watched a friend play a really really nice Epiphone Custom LP in arctic white with nice binding, kind of an aged white look for arctic white, but it was about eight hundred US and sounded great. That of course is solid body.

I bought an Ibanez AS73 tonepro stoptail type twin HB semi hollow body in black cherry for a real great blow out price at Guitar center, same place as above. I compared it to a regular Casino, a Sheraton II which was my target purchase, and a Dot nice finish one, and I liked the Ibanez AS73 by far better; playing the chords fell right into my hand even the difficult ones, the feel, the look and the overall playability were all superior to the more expensive guitars. The Ibanez was about 299 at a blowout price, brand new, and normally sells significantly more expensive.

I'm not so "specific target guitar" fixated anymore. I even let guitars pick me out sometimes. Sometimes they just plain pick me out without me even letting them. I got a Cherry sunburst, "Cherry Burst" Squire standard strat with a lime green pickguard that just kept catching my eye. I bought it. I was fixated on getting a telecaster. I have some telecasters already but always am on the lookout for another outstanding one. This Squire is by my side and is stock right now. It is heavy and plays great stock and is almost silent considering it has stock Squire single coils. An ESP LTD Viper saw me standing there by the cash register and I had just played a black one, both bottom of the line Viper -50s. I was going to put a down payment on the black new one. I asked about the black cherry one and found out it was less than a year old, '08 model, plastic still on the pups, no scratches whatsoever; a/b'd it to the black one and it sounded better with the original strings still on it. Got it for 140 US including tax and new D'darrio pure nickel strings in ten's. It is awesome for a stock guitar, not a buzz on it. Might replace the pups. Playing it every day including right now thru my Peavey Delta Blues, straight in. Great all around. Picked me out. Gotta be open minded and less target fixated unless you need to get a specific guitar for some definite reason.

Hope this info helps,

Peace
