HNGD?

I bought it by accident but I can't wait to get my hands on it and test it out. Not sure how long I can keep my hands on this though. Might have to sell something else to afford it because I was hoping to get myself an Epiphone EJ-160e or a Dove or a Korean Texan or something acousticy. It's a 1993 Samick Sheraton with the following upgrades:

-Custom made Pickups by John Moore in Canada (http://www.tonefordays.com)

-CGE Pots

-Switchcraft toggle switch and jack socket

-Hovland music caps

-Grover tuners (apparently not stock in 1993?)

-Cream gibson knobs (will probably change them back to original or black)

-New unbranded hard case

That is a beaut. I love the early 90s Sheratons with the Silk Screened epsilon on the pick guard.

Hope you can hold onto it long enought to enjoy it.

Did you get a good deal on it?

The Sheraton is the last of the archtops that I am missing.

But after purchasing my Sorrento, my wife is just giving me that "You really need a Sheraton?" look.

Hahaha!!! My girlfriend is sick to death of hearing me say, "What do you think of this?"

I got it for £300. I thought a guitar like this would go for £350-400 so put down a safe £300 bid thinking I'd get a great gutiar for the money if nobody else bidded higher. Nobody did so this is replacing the Epiphone Dot natural in my collection for now. I love the pickguard and the headstock but I'm not so keen on those knobs though...

I'm still missing the elusive riviera and that sorrento is still selling at £499. I've promised a friend I'd buy his elite Casino (which I'm more than happy to do) but knowing I'm going to be forking out for that next month means I've got to be careful what I buy this month.

Well quite frequently I bid on things that I like at a price that I think is a bit of a bargain. So in this case with the upgrades I though 300 was very good. 90% of the time these bids I make never win the guitar because normally it's worth more than the modest amount I enter but in this case I actually ended up winning it and was surprised that nobody else felt that this guitar was worth more than £300.

For example I normally bid up to £200 on every korean epiphone dot and £300 on every korean casino but most of the time these guitars will go over that by about £50-100. Occasionally I end up with one of them... like this sheraton.

That's how I bought my Sorrento, Del Rey and a Masterbuilt DR500P, the one with Maple back and sides.

All three were great buys except the Masterbuilt, the top started to warp from the right side of the bridge to the lower bout. Sounded great, but sold before it cracked.

Bought on e-bay for $300 including shipping (with the original case).

Traded it for $310 on my Breedlove.

Keep the low bids going!
