that elitist sheraton is 1700... canadian.

Epiphone Elitist Sheraton

$2799.00 Can$ list price

$2069.00 normal discounted sell price

On Special for $1769.00 Can$ (approx.$1420.US$)

sales@12fret.com

they are claiming it had a finish repair that cannot be found and is otherwise mint. interesting looking top, but it could be shrunken pic distortion. anyway, that's the closest you're getting to a new one, is it worth $1420 to you?

wow another VT SF.

Not easy to find these, they play really well and have a ton of sustain.

but if i were you, i wouldnt buy it straight off the internet though, the finish (from all the ones ive seen) all discolour and end up turning like a tarnished gold colour. Also the pickups tend to rust, and the pots tend to go insanely crackly (Thanks to epiphones amazing expense spent on the electronics).

Unless its never been taken out of its case, and the electronics survived then i doubt its going to be mint condition, however these are not at all common, and its a great eye pleaser.

If I was in money spending mode, probably. 12th Fret is probably the finest store in Canada with an outstanding reputation. Besides, the Elitists are going to be very difficult to find moving forward. However, I'm not in the market right now. I have a good semi-hollow; don't need another.

As a heads up to those in the Toronto area, L&M Oshawa also has and Elistist LP Goldtop (a '57, I think; humbuckers) on closeout for $1520. It has the bullion gold of the Gibson, not the sparkle, slightly greenish paint of the Epi. A fine looking instrument.

The owner of 12th fret puts those ads up himself. It will be in exactly the condition he says it is. That store is a small shop that's a Toronto institution. When famous players are in Toronto, that's where they go. Jean Larivee used to be his partner.

That goldtop has been there for at least 3 years....may be possible to get a deal if one were in the market.
