tristanmatthew
Officially joining the club. Had this beauty for a few years but finally got around to joining the club. Completely gutted her for new hardware, electronics and pickups. Thinking about frequensating her. On the fence right now because I don't want ugly holes in my guitar not do I want to spend over the odds getting them filled and the paint matched. She's got this beautiful yellowed hue which I would hate to lose.
Pacific Reef
This is my E by G Sheraton II bought second hand for £300, as far as I know it's all stock, most of the gold has worn off the stop-tail, the bridge, pick-ups & tuning keys. According to guitar dater project the serial no dates this guitar as October 1980 prodution number 365. which is obviously incorrect. It must be a 1988 E by G. One with pick guard
Toine Leuverink
Hi there, I saw this topic. I have an E-by-G. I can't find any serial number on it so I guess it is from '86 as I understand? I have this guitar for about 25-30 years now. It was almost new or new when I bought it. Can't remember. I live in the Netherlands. I can't find a way to upload pictures to this forum (it asks for an URL which there isn't). So here is a link to a wetransfer download: My link I hope you read this in time before the link expires. If not, just send me a message and I will send the pictures through e-mail. Best regards, Toine Leuverink toine@z21.nl

eddieG
Hello guys, Eddie here from Miami Beach....proud new owner of this E by G beauty. It was a very fortunate and miraculous "Barn find" if you believe. This guitar is in pristine conditions, almost untouched for a 30 years old guitar. Im assuming her manufacture date is July 1987 since her SN is 70710978. To my surprise i also found out the case is a Vintage 1960s Acoustic Gibson J-45 (not 100% sure) If anybody could help here would be very much appreciated. All appear in regular order with the guitar except the bridge. Original owner installed this "woodie" type of bridge. But the sustain and sound is to die for!! Coundt be more happier!! eddieG
probably closer to 1987 Were you able to guess because of the serial number?
Irish_Rover
Were you able to guess because of the serial number? I don't want to put words in his mouth but I think he just subtracted 30 from 2017 to get 1987, which is correct (at least it was when I went to school) and not 2007 as you wrote in your original post. EDIT: Nice guitar btw Edited March 1, 2017 by Irish_Rover

EDIT: Nice guitar btw Shoot! Just realized i wrote 2007 and not 1987 LMAO! What a way to screw your first post here in the Gibson Forum with all the knowledgable Gibson boys hehehe. Yeah my guessing after reading all the other posts is the guitar was done in Korea in July 1987 amd thanks buddy, it's a beauty indeed. Never played one of these ones before and im very surprised by the tone and sustain.
rpmblues
Wow That is surprising of all the thousands of Epiphone owners on this site only two other people Jerrymac who once owned one, and Musikron who has one. So few peopled who own or have owned, a "Epiphone by Gibson" headstock Sheraton. I have seen one on e-bay, Wonder how many of these were made. Would like to get a list of owners just to try and sort the riddle of these serials.

Calin-Mihnea
He didn't pay anything for it. It was already in his family's possession for a long time. He wants 1.000$ for it, but I don't think it's worth it, in this state. Maybe for like 750$.
Indigo Temple
Hello, I'm new to the page and proud to be part of the "Epiphone by Gibson" club :-) My first "real" guitar was a Sheraton, which I bought in 1987, after seeing it in a shop window for months. I had to work the whole summer to be able to buy it. I was 21 years old. I paid 14.500,- Belgian Francs for it, which is about 363 Euro in today's money. Before I was playing cheap crappy guitars, so the Sheraton was a treasured posession for years. Then, in 2009, I went to the US and I bought a beautiful Gretsch Tennessee Rose. It was a real heavy investment, and I decided to sell the Sheraton. I got good money for it (400 Euro), more than I paid for it at that time. But then I started missing it, regretting my decision. Last year, I was lucky to be able to buy one again (number 881008312) from a first owner who sold it to buy a 12-string. It felt like coming home. There was the sound and feel again. I shall never sell this one again !
