Figaro
I bought a 2007 Casino made in China (EE serial number). It has a "Limited Edition Custom Shop" logo on the back of the headstock. Are there any differences between this Custom Shop one and the regular Epi Casino?
Swoop
I bought a 2007 Casino made in China (EE serial number). It has a "Limited Edition Custom Shop" logo on the back of the headstock. Are there any differences between this Custom Shop one and the regular Epi Casino? The 'Limited Edition Custom Shop' stamp usually denotes a non standard finish or hardware, especially on the Casino, and, on other models, it generally denotes the same thing, non standard finish or hardware, or a special run like the Negative Series for example. They don't really do any out of the ordinary things with the Casino like that, probably because it's such a classic guitar, so it's usually non standard finish or hardware. If you post some pics, we might be able to identify the feature that means your Casino bears that stamp. Doesn't happen to have a Bigsby does it? The Casino with Bigsby is a 'Limited Edition Custom Shop' model.
Figaro
I have seen many Epi Casinos over the years. I have checked this one over and I can't find anything different about this one. It has a natural finish, regular trapeze tailpiece and regular tuners.
Swoop
That's odd then. Perhaps post some pics anyway, someone else may be able to spot something.

My guess is that these were built with the intention that a Bigsby be installed on them at the factory (the model with the Bigsby got the Custom Shop decal), but the factory ran out, so they were shipped without. Red 333[/quote'] Does that mean it has additional wood blocking to support the Bigsby? That might be how to determine if that's what you got Stratofig. Stig
My Casino has that Custom Shop logo. It's got a "Vintage Sunburst Finish" and a Bigsby. <--- Just like this one here.
TP
Doesn't happen to have a Bigsby does it? The Casino with Bigsby is a 'Limited Edition Custom Shop' model. My 1996 Casino has a factory installed Epiphone labled Bigsby, but no Limited Edition or Custom shop sticker anywhere that I can find. Was the Epi Bigsby copy standard on some back in 1996? Also, why are most of the Bigsby's I see on Epiphone Casinos, actual Bigsby instead of the Epiphone labled one. Mine looks and works just like an original Bigsby, it is just the E labled Bigsby. pohatu771
There were no "Custom Shop" instruments in the 90s, if I remember. The Bigsby model (with the Epiphone licensed version) was a standard model. As far as I know, there's no difference between the Bigsby and non-Bigsby guitars, construction-wise. No extra bracing or "wood block." Others have installed Bigbys successfully, so there's no reason to have it.

[/quote'] I believe pohatu771 is right about all points in his post. It was the Casino with Bigsby that was released recently (like 2007 maybe?) got that Limited Edition Custom Shop decal. pohatu771
If I remember correctly, when I was looking to buy my Casino (early 2007), I played a Bigsby'd version at the HOG with no Custom Shop label. It was probably the last of the "standard-issue" models, because I remember it disappearing from the Musician's Friend catalogs soon after. It was reintroduced late last year as a limited edition model... in North America, anyway. They seem to be more common in Europe.
Suicidehummer
Epiphone will slap a "Custom Shop" sticker on just about anything, sorry to burst your bubble but there's nothing special about these guitars.
