Sancho Panza
That is one big guitar. This version of "California Dreaming" is way better than the original. I will probably get banned for saying that, but man, listen to his playing. I have had this song on repeat for three days now.
MrNylon
Good, but I'll still go with the Mamas And Papas version.

57classic
Wes was good - but then there's this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzitMFEy0ak Pretty damned good just different than Wes. Hard to pick a "best" when they're that good. It just comes down to taste and mood.
milod
The problem with Montgomery stuff is that it was way over-produced. I wondered why in that era they hadda have so much crud in there, and Montgomery certainly was not the only excellent soloist so encumbered. It was enough to keep me from buying the records, anyway, when buying one was a major expenditure. m
57classic
I agree Milo. I don't know why they put all that orchestration on so many of his recordings, a real distraction. He neither needed it, nor benefitted from it. There are many recordings, thankfully, when he is just with a small jazz ensemble.
