heymisterk
If I started judging bands and band personnel on morality, I would have very few heroes. Jimmy Page was addicted to every drug imaginable, dated a 14 year old, and did the soundtrack to "Death Wish II". In addition, he also has the reputation for being a money-grubbing louse. John Lennon left his wife and his son - pretty much for good - to marry Yoko Ono and hack away at Paul McCartney's legacy. Oh, and he said his band was bigger than Jesus. Paul McCartney consistently takes credit for some of the stuff in The Beatles that is not rightfully his, wanted the Lennon/McCartney songwriting label as being more specific (an ego thing more than anything), and wrote "My Love". Pete Townsend browsed really, really bad porn sights. Robert Johnson sold his soul to Satan. Need I talk about Slash? Axl Rose? Geez, good thing I am not an Oasis fan... I am not a religious man in the least bit, but the jesus and satan items made me like the two artists even more.

Oopssorryy
If people keep payin', The Rolling Stones will keep playin'. Can't blame them myself, I mean if somebody told you "I'll pay you 7 figures to play for an hour." would you really say no? Now I doubt they still can really play, I think they probably went the way The Who did (did you see that Superbowl performance?). But they are making money, and maybe even having fun. If people are willing to watch a bad show then let them, it's not your lose.

People will pay and so will promoters. If I was a big performer and it took me 3 million to setup,1 million to pay staff and management staff then really not making that much really for a huge band. I think I learned some new things from this thread, one side was against them and one side with them. Really turned out to be a very constructive thread. Still a little confused about the whole thing what Damian said though, think I'll talk to a therapist about that one lol Hmmmmmmmmmmm so maybe next thread will be " Why Gibson should give you a lifetime supply of strings"...could be fun lol

I'm sick & tired of people misspelling Townshend, Daltrey & Entwistle. Craig
charlie brown
Hey, if The Stones can keep selling out arenas, large or small, and they love what they do, I'm all for 'em! Those folks that don't want to see them, don't have to go. Mick actually puts on a pretty good show, and for his age, he's in fantastic form, shape! Been awhile, since I've seen them "live," but just watching Mick, prancing around, on the "Shine A Light," DVD was pretty impressive. The rest, of the guys, seemed to enjoy it all, too. Of course, I Like The Rolling Stones, so..??? ;>) CB

I remember hearing Satisfaction on my dad's vinyls when I was a wee lad, still like blasting it in my car to this day.
