Duende
Hi anyone interested in this... I have started a new group on facebook called Guitar and Piano Tuition, if anyone wants to join up? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Matthew-Sear-Guitarist-and-Composer/124533750936652 also I have replicated the group on youtube http://www.youtube.c...E1D4E77E131740B They are video clips of various things on both classical and electric guitar like picking, phrasing, dynamics etc etc Please feel free to subscribe and share any useful tips you may have or simply leave feedback. The pages are for my pupils, so they can have an additional online demo of what they get in lessons, but they are open to anyone who may benefit from them too! cheers Matt

Duende
Hi Just giving the thread a quick bump Please feel free to join on facebook or and/or subscribe on youtube. The FB page is geared to how I teach my own pupils, so as long as you are okay about that Below are some new videos. Like I say they make the most sense to the people who have lessons and these things are just reminders they can refer to, but especially if you are a beginner they may be of help. Cheers Matt Three string sweep picking in A minor lesson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgUDh9tJoT0&feature=channel_video_title Using 'question and answer' phrasing in the key of E (blues rock improvisation lesson) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koWXm7CgUis&feature=relmfu

milod
I'm at work and can't look now but I figured another bump wouldn't hurt. And... For what it's worth, if Matt had something horrid happen so he couldn't play, he'd still be more than worth his weight in gold as a teacher. m
Duende
Matt, can I have your right thumb from your picking hand?... It is a quirk that seems to have worked out well LOL. I am completely aware though that it doesn't work for every pupil, so there is a more conventional picking technique I also show them in the early stages - basically to see which one works the best for themt! I am open though to suggestions as it were - we are all very different and have ways of doing things in our technique that may not be in the rule book; but work! The older I get, the more I realise that Barbosa has it right when he says about the Pirates code being more like guidelines, than rules as such. Everybody finds what hopefully works well for them, and in your case it's mesmerizing!
