Californiaman
I was listening to the radio the other night and the DJ said that when Brian Wilson wrote this song he was on an LSD trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_iyf-lNFbs LSD.
MrNylon
I can believe it. Brian, and a lot of other folks were doing quite a few things back then. Ok!

Duende
I remember reading how a stoned Brian Wilson would play The Beatles' Sgt Pepper again and again while he rolled joint after joint in a fazed out awe/depression. Here are two of my favourites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_TcWUslfvE
cookieman15061
Brian Wilson is genius and along with the Beatles and Paul Simon atop my musical mount Rushmore. The things he was doing in the early 60s (writing, touring, producing BB as well as others) was not the norm. A phenomenal workload (averaging 3 albums a year in the beginning) and record company pressure along with the drugs would take their toll but he matured with every record. I've seen him twice in the past 10 years with his band and he has one heck of a songbook to choose from. here's one of my favs from the later years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BakwE9cjSc&feature=player_detailpage
DogsPart2
Thanks for posting the "Sail on Sailor" clip. I had not seen that before. Mathew does a good job on the Carl Wilson vocal parts. Brian is one of the best songwriters and producers in history, IMHO.
