Yeah but not quite as long ago as that video seems to be, it looks like fairly early 60's, I didn't see Buffy until mid-late 60's. I did accompany a singer on that particular song one time. I emailed her with a question about this song when I was transcribing it and the songbook was wrong. milod Posted November 7, 2011 Share Posted November 7, 2011 Buffy had that vibrato like Edith Piaf - and Sylvia Tyson has a similar but somewhat more urban vibrato regardless what else. I never saw Buffy. Nor Melanie. Always questioned the degree to which one should consider the music of either as "folk," but then I never managed to figure out what "folk" might be. Childe or Lomax?
