As long as he keeps them in Great condition, always in tune & on rare occasions, he plays just for me...& of course I can have as many computers or Gadgets that I want (LOTS) See ya soon Paul & Mrs Wife (Gillian) Where'd you come across the Explorer with those fingerboard inlays? Nice collection by the way and welcome aboard! G'day Stickman, The explorer originally came with dots. I had it changed to the block inlays just to be different. I also changed the control knobs from the gold plastic type to the gold plated metal ones with perloid tops. I like to personalize my geer. The bridge pickup is a Tesla plasma 2. (Very hot at 23 kohms). I kept the neck pup original. I'm debating whether I wanna put a Maestro vibrola on her. Haven't yet decided. I have bought a second hand 2007 Epihpone Wine Red quilted Les Paul Standard, Chrome tuners, no pickguard. Looks great.Serial number tells me it was born in the Gibson QangDao plant. Sounds great so far but I'm sure mods will be made at some time. I also have a Maton MS503 and Maton accoustic. Previous guitars have been Godins which were really well made and great to play but.....That's why I wanted the LP. Oh yes! and I have a Lanakai spruce ukulele which is fun to play for something different to do. Hope I can learn some tips from the masters. You owe it to yourself to add at least one hollow or semi-hollow to the collection, and Epiphone makes some dandy ones (as you may have noticed). I bought a Blonde 335 copy a couple of years back, wasn't an Epi and I modified it a bit. Just didn't work for me. Still have it in my care, but it now belongs to my daughter. I feel more comfortable playing the solids however, those archtops are stunning to look at. Gillian is really keen on the Vox SDC33 Goldtop, even if she can't play a note. I would prefer the Epiphone LP or SG Prophecy GX. Mmmmmmmm!!!! Each to their own I say. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
