vomer
Hi, welcome to the forum. You are quite specific about the spelling of the name; does it appear somewhere on the guitar? If you hadn't been so specific, I would have been asking, is that spelling Sorrento? Pics would be useful.
Parabar
Welcome Mike! The Sorrento reissue is an excellent guitar. I have one too and like it a lot. I think they never caught on too much because essentially they're like a single cutaway Casino, and I understand why the doublecut design is more popular (plus it has the Beatles/Stones/Beach Boys association). Still, the single Florentine cutaway is elegant in its own right, and the tone of P-90's on a thinline hollowbody is a well-established classic. Here's mine: As vomer said, pics of yours would be much appreciated here also!
brianh
Welcome to the forum mcook. All of the Epiphone Sorrentos that I'm aware of were spelled SORRENTO. Not sure what the deal is with yours, but pics would help a lot. Here are some links that might be useful: http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/67501-my-pink-metallic-sorrento/page__p__915333__hl__sorrento__fromsearch__1&do=findComment&comment=915333 http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/62231-sorrento-1997/page__p__842887__hl__sorrento__fromsearch__1&do=findComment&comment=842887 http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/40U-4899.htm http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/76707-2011-fall-philly-guitar-show-new-pics/

clarkuss
Absolutely love the look of the Sorrento and having a Gibson Es-225t and a few Casinos, I know when I eventually pull the trigger I'm gonna love it. I've been *this* close to buying one on 3 occasions but either forgot to bid or hesitated too long... I'd like a '97 VSB to match my Casino, Riviera and EJ-160e! Get some pictures up!! Matt4356
1. Welcome 2. This is epiphone electric sub forum. 3. That's not an epiphone. 4. This thread you have found is nine years old. 5. Dont fall into the trap of thinking older and made in Japan = $$$, it doesn't always. Like everywhere they made some cr ap. 6. Sorry I can be of no help, I doubt you will get any here.
