Phosphor Bronze on both my mahogany b/s and rosewood b/s guitars. I dont have a maple guitar so cant comment there. I never could get used to the sound of 80/20's on any of my guitars. In general I find them to be very lacking in the low end. I guess I have become accustomed to the PB sound. fwiw...I also prefer the reddish look of PB's over the very brassy look of 80/20's
EuroAussie
PB's for all three for me thanks ...
JohnnyReb
Generally i used 80/20s on my rosewood Martins for added brightness for flatpicking. So far on my rosewood Gibson Advanced Jumbo ive used 80/20s too. But its a naturally bright guitar so im gonna try some PB soon to see how they work. But in all reality its hard to pin one type of string to a certian tonewood, because even similar tonewoods have their own personality and respond differently to different things. duluthdan
Rosewood gets the PB - love that Neil Young type drone, and really deep round sound. Mahhogany gets the 80/20 - I only play with my fingers, so this gives life and ring to the sound. No maple.
zombywoof
I don't give a thought to what wood the guitar is made of. I slap nickel round wound strings on everything.
pfox14
All my guitars get the same PB strings.

What kind (Brand) and thickness of strings do you use, I'd like to try them out.
