Svet Posted April 22, 2012 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Hey guys, I have been playing my Sheraton tonight and wow, I just love this guitar! This was the guitar that brought me back! Six years ago I started playing the guitar on a daily basis again. I had a hiatus of about nine to ten years where I played very rarely. I had two guitars and one amp. The bug hit me in 2006, I had been working again and was making money for a few years. I was gassing for another Sheraton II to replace one I sold off back in 1997 or 8. This is when I learned of the Elitists on Epiphone's website. I called my local dealer and they actually had one on the rack! I drove the 30 miles and bam, I was hooked on guitars (especially epiphone Elitist's) again! Within a few months of that I would buy a Martin 000-28 and Telecaster Deluxe and in that year 4 Elitists! The Sheraton is responsable for setting the hook and is one of the few guitars that I will never sell! In the Spring of 2006 I had two guitars and one amp. I now have 26 guitars and four amps but I sold off a few amps and guitars in the last 10 months! I blame the Sheraton for that gas burst but my lust has subsided now and it has been a few years since I've bought anything. I' m sure having a kid is largely responsable for that... Anyway, here's the blonde that had I not met I would have a lot more money in my pockets!! That's a better instrument than my ES 335! What guitar caused you to get crazy with buying?!? The Sheraton design versions have been in continuous production since 1959 according to some background info I read recently, and not many models have that much heritage. I had the Revolution Casino and that sparked a brief (you gota go mental within your means ;)) spending spree on a Dot. I basically spent about 1,000beans in three weeks then stopped before, well, what you did Sveg!! How the bloomin' 'eck can you people afford so many expensive guitars!! I just bought a Tribute LP (Gibson ebony edition). I've always, ALWAYS, wanted a Gibson and now I own one and it's HUGE for me. I know it's only entry level (I know I always say that as well) but to me it's a Gibson none the less!!! I was thinking of getting a Revolution Casino again (sold my Dot and Casino a couple of years back) BUT the white Sheraton II looks stunning. Help?! I got some P90s on my Gibson LP....surely that means I need some Humbuckers in my life, leaning towards a SheratonII here!! Great work guys, love the fact you list all your guitars in your signature. Hi there, ive also seen this one for sale here in the UK and yes its sure a lot of money, I guess it is a you say a nice piece of history beings as its said to be a first issue model..Ive a Sheraton that im selling too, 1998 Blonde c/ gold hardware/tortoise-shell pickplate and with the Epiphone by Gibson headstock c/w OHSC and under half the price of that one too...As someone said the finish on these is amazing, the Pearl/Abalone fretmarkers, Vine of Life, binding etc is truly gorgeous...damn ...maybe i dont want to sell her now hahaha...But i really must, ive just got too many guitars...Doh!! Korean-made Sheraton I's aren't worth as much as Sheraton II's according to guitar value books. I think the recent manufacture Sheratons are better made and more consistent than the older ones.
