J.R.M.30!
Yep, it looks like a Casino will open in a city near my hometown. Geez, I know it's supposed to bring alot of jobs to people that really need them but gosh it's a Casino. Man, everytime I think of a Casino I think of the thousands that lost everthing gambling away their savings or what not. Yeah, you never hear of people winning a ton of money and spending it wisely, just the pitfalls into drug/alchol abuse mainly. For crying out loud, it would be just noble for all Casinos to stay in 'Vegas but to every quick fix their are plenty of suckers to be lured in. Oh, I wish farming and manufacturing wasn't dwindling, as the first makes up just 2% of the population and the latter is shipped to China, or Brazil. Ah yes the odds of these Casinos closing are very remote but then again I need to practice my probability after all.
Mark
Always play 0 and 00. Its a sign of the times. State and local goverments are strugling with their existing tax base. Here in Chicago there is talk about slots at the horse tracks and taxable revenue is way up at a new landbased casino. There will only be more and more. I am going to Las Vegas in a few weeks Personally I find Riverboat or Reservation type casinos boring
Rabs
I dont gamble and have never liked it and what it can do to peoples lives.. BUT I found myself working for a company developing gambling software a few years ago.. At first I really didnt like being a part of it but found out that the company I worked for gave many donations to chairty and actually had one set up in the building helping African people who get eye problems.. When I was still there they had helped stop over 250,000 poor and undeprivileged people from going blind and were part of gambling organisations for people who have an addiction.. Which made me feel a little better.. So it can be done right, but I still dont like it.
