Phalaris
I'm by no means an expert when it comes to fixing my guitar. But I suspect I have a problem with the 3-Way Switch itself. Here is the issue I'm having. When I set the switch to Rhythm, the neck pickup is active, and I can adjust the volume with it's respective volume knob. When I set the switch to Treble, the bridge pickup is active, and I can adjust the volume with it's respective volume knob. These two settings work normally, as expected. My problem begins when I set the switch to the middle position. Bridge Volume set to 0, Neck Volume set to 10 = No sound. Bridge Volume set to 10, Neck Volume set to 0 = Sound I was wondering if this may be a wiring issue, or if the switch is faulty? Phalaris.
SNick
That's normal. It's just how it works. You need some volume on both to make it work.
jonnyg
If you're up for a minor bit of soldering you can rewire your volume pots for independent operation. All you need to do is reverse your input and output connections on the volume pots so that your input is on the centre terminal of the pot (T2) and the output is on the left hand terminal (T3) when looking at the bottom of the pot. diverden
When the pickup toggle set to the center position; the bridge volume control acts as a blend control or master volume.
Bender 4 Life
yep.....it's called the "modern" wiring scheme, as opposed to the independantly operating "50s" wiring scheme.
