  1. What a great post - and perspective for the years to come. The trick is to patiently facilitate the rendezvous between your hearing and the warmer'n'warmer guitar.
  2. Actually just looked up the calendar to check my vintage but precious memory. And bingo - it happened August 12 1991.
  3. Are we so lucky that you will show pictures. Might be a very fine sounding square - and yes, it has the double X bracing. But they too break in and can reach something unique.
  4. 🍸 Hahe, , , bet yoo did. A distant echo tells me you wrote"an otherly orgy of organic organ-like overtones". My fantasy may run astray there. Remember seeing Raitt just around the corner from here in that period. It was a Monday, , , but she soon turned into something 8th. . And that is a fact !
  5. You're right - it probably was an orgy*. *first time this word is used on the Board
  6. O great - though I mostly remember this one - where the guy plays the Bird, , , which also happens in the hotel room home-video which was one here too. I don't find it likely that she's still around. Platoons of men must have eaten her up long time ago. .
  7. And here the whole bouquet - with the former crypto comedians in full bloom
  8. Yes she is - and a clever woman too. I noticed she kind of under-played the Hummingbird, , , perhaps too thin for her. This 200 sounds stellar -
  9. Eeehh, , , for saying so to Duluth,
  10. Fine and intriguing story ^ Something tells me this G. Potter was seen and shown here playing a Hummingbird and a pair of faded jeans some 10 years ago. I may be wrong. But how grand of you to send off your guitars. Hope some film shows up on the Tube in the days to come. If yes, please post it here.
  11. Congratulations 🏵️ This guitar will be kooler and kooler. May you grow that way in harmony together.
  12. Assume you are talking 'bout the brace-pattern ?
  13. That sounds like a pretty serious case of full-blooded folk-music. I can listen to instrumental music and have fx owned and enjoyed a Renbourn-Grossman LP since the late 70s. Pat Metheny's One Quiet Night also lives here. It's an album where he plays own pieces and other's songs on his Linda Manzer-built baritone guitar. The fact he included Gerry Marsden's Ferry Cross The Mersey was as fascinating as surprising. Think the entire record was recorded over one night.
  14. This style'n'approach CAN get quite exhausting - but you were young enough to step out of the box, hopefully all 4:47. Not unhealthy for me either. .
  15. Hahe, , , don't forget the Tube channel speed-function. Just go for the cogwheel symbol. ⚙️ Then choose 0.25.
  16. Those guys sure passed the 10.000 hour mark, , , if you allow that term in the context. We might be listening to 100.000 hours here. It's fair to set up an extra video for their achievement -
  17. They are on fire and surely lay it all on the table. Is it too much, , , too show offish ? Not really certain, but they definitely know what they're doin' and are worth a listen. Notice the steel-string trebs are rolled off and only come to surface during some of the intense soloing. There's almost a silk'n'steel-feel to the overall sound - meaning the step before catstrings. Okay fine ^
  18. Never opened for or supported anybody, but once played before B.B. King. Perhaps kind of the same thing. And if it is Cowboy Junkies once opened for me. . Have fun, , , tho it for obvious reasons can be a tough thankless task.
  19. And that law-book itself is always pretty intereztinnggg. .
  20. But do I understand that your's is etched as well ? - are there 2 types of groove-patterns ? Not sure the hi-end-Birds have hand-etched guards - but hand painted, probably yes.
  21. Good and obvious Q, but apparently no. Okay then - glad the guitar moved in KingJ's direction and would like to know if you KJ78 had played other examples of the model before receiving the one above. Anyway, , , let's hear how it develops. If you met each other after 8 days you might merge into 1 after 8 months, , , not to mention years. P.S. - Don't forget it actually take an acoustic guitar 8 years to open up - from there it begins. . . .
  22. Well then, , , back on the horse. .
