  1. LG2AE thats a great guitar. I have one as well. Seriously amazing tone and box for short $
  2. Grunt if you use it, pls document... I have a small headstock chip on my J50....
  3. scales nailed it. excellent haunting voice. i need to check up here more.
  4. My birth year is 1966... I think the only birth-year guitar I'd consider is a Martin, but I'm not hung up on that. I actually want no reminder of my age. Good luck though. Maybe pick up some nice vinyl albums from your birth year that you like? Boston? Hotel California? Or is that '77? Jackson Brown? Bruce? Beatles? Dylan?
  5. This is a cover of an old Chicago song... Beginnings:
  6. Ask this over at the AGF and you will get plenty of answers. You are not likely to get many helpful answers about Taylors on a Gibson forum. Good luck.
  7. You obviously know what you like... But I have a hard time believing that a long scale Martin plays easier and "slinkier" than a short scale J45, which makes me think you just yearn for a really good setup. A good setup guy is worth his/her weight in gold. Or maybe.... you need an AJ!
  8. I own a J50 without the new "rolled fingerboard". I owned a J45 2016 version that had it. It's nice... But imperceptible if I'm not thinking about it. Get the look/sound you like and don't let this be a variable.
  9. I apply for membership with my 9/18/16 purchase. This is it, at home, and I hope to put many miles on it. I love the tuners, the binding, the finish, and I dont think a pickup or even a strap button will make its way to this guitar. It is for the record, by far the most "costly" guitar I have ever purchased, followed closely by a 1998 Gretsch electric years back...
  10. Welcome aboard everyone! Nice herd TB
  11. I'm watching this, as I have a guitar with mini 205 series 3x3 rotos... And I'd love the creme button look myself, if it were drop in.
  12. Thanks guys. jedzep, appreciated the charts... I don't know what 1st position vs 2nd position is... I'll figure it out. More importantly.... How do you bend?
  13. Got it... I am using an A Harp. Too many tracks. Guitar, bass, cajon, clapping, harmonica, lead vocal, harmony vocal. Its good that the song could not be easier... Sweet Virginia: https://soundcloud.com/sal-from-chatham/sweet-virginia
  14. I cant play. I mean I can do the most basic trial-by-error stuff, but I could use some resource help. First off, I dont know which key harp to choose. So, for example, we are playing in our duo Sweet Virginia by the Stones. D... Bm... A etc. Do I use a harmonica in the key of D? or A? That's a good place to start I suppose!
  15. I repeat myself when under stress. I repeat myself when under stress. I repeat.... Name the artist....
  16. My old flubber guard on my 2016 j45 was lifting when I brought it home. I heated it with a hair dryer, as I said, and rested a book on it overnight. It's been perfect since. I really don't think this is cause to panic.
  17. Me? I'd warm the area with a hair dryer while it was laying flat on a table on towels, and then put a dictionary on top of it for a day. Preferably the dictionary that Anthony Buckeridge uses for this forum...
  18. This is awesome. You captured THE J45 SOUND. It was made for this.
  19. Here is a cover of Justin Townes Earle song. I tried a little harp at one point in the song. One More Night in Brooklyn https://soundcloud.com/sal-from-chatham/one-more-night-in-brooklyn-1
  20. Sounds like a new nut needed... proper slots with proper heights.
  21. Forget Sweet Home... Let's debate Aretha's Chain of Fools...
  22. Now I feel Like Homer Simpson in Chemistry Class being taught in Mandarin underwater.

  24. I feel like Homer Simpson in Chemistry class.
  25. My first slope was not a Gibson. It was ... Gulp... A Martin CEO 4R. I never liked the guitar as it was too muddy. However it did have a riichlite fretboard, which looked and played great. To be honest I don't know how I would feel about it on my Gibson J45. I'm thinking I'd prefer real wood, but that's maybe due to too many years on guitar forums.
