  1. Throw the Book away.. It’s a Sellers market & Prices are extremely inflated. That said, it’s a great time to Sell.
  2. GC Hollywood is a Candy Store for Musicians no doubt! I’m always amazed with their Vintage Gear! I’ve had one of these new Casinos on Order since they were announced at NAMM way back when.. It’s supposed to be coming in August I’m being told.. There is so much discussion about the Specs being far from accurate with regard to traditional Casinos! To the point of being sacrilegious! The wrong Ears on the Body, small Headstock & backwards Neck Inlays being the most criticized… Regardless, the NGD YouTubes all seem very positive & they sound & look great! Congrats on yours!
  3. I found them! They are a great source for information…. http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Epiphone/Les-Paul.aspx http://legacy.gibson.com Guess I spoke to soon.. The websites are there as are the Out of Production Links.. But whatever you click on defaults to the new websites… What a drag! Why did Gibson delete something that was already a great Source?
  4. Before Gibson changed to their new Website they listed all their current & discontinued models with Pics, description & specs. Recently, someone here posted the new Website for the old models.. It was something GibsonHistorical.com, GibsonRetro.com or something like that... I did a Search but couldn't find it... Thanks
  5. I know this Thead is 11 years old….. Ok… Does the new Gibson/Epiphone Nashville & Bozeman USA still have Custom Shops that will build one off Custom Guitars?
  6. I thought there is a Site called Gibson Retro or Historic or something like that with all the discontinued Gibsons & Epi’s?
  7. Where do I find specs for discontinued Epiphone Guitars? Thanks
  8. Does it have a wound G?
  9. Aren’t the MHS the same size? I think they are & should be able to swap without damaging the Guitar. I think you should be able to change back to the original Pickups with no problem in case you want to…
  10. I don’t see any warnings on their Low Abrasion Cream that says it will remove the Gold off of Pickups…. Call Gibson.. They should replace them…
  11. Do you use wound or unwound G strings? If you use wound you might try an unwound.. Which are arguably a better preference anyway..
  12. In some Trems, Bigsby etc. once the Spring is in place you need to push the Trem all the way down to lock it in place… I’m not sure that’s the case with yours but you could ask Customer Service Tech Support at Gibson… Good luck….
  13. How apart is it? Doesn’t look too complex.. if in doubt Gibson Customer Service & ask for one.. They should have it.. Good luck.. Or take it to a competent Luthier….
  14. Gibson changes Specs at will… I doubt there is a Chart..
  15. If you’re not 100% satisfied exchange it…..
  16. These days there are so many great new Guitars being produced about the only way it would become super valuable is if you become a Famous Artist & in 50 years after you’re gone they sell it at Auction… Buy it to play, enjoy & because you like it… Forget about high future Monetary Appreciation…. If it happens great, if not, you had a good time…
  17. Proving it was defective after you broke it may be hard to get them to buy… Good luck.. In 2 separate Warranty situations on 2 different Guitars Gibson didn’t respond to any of my emails.. Until I contacted them via Phone… And, I live in the USA! In any case I hope you get it resolved & love it!
  18. Since you bought it new, you are still under the Lifetime Warranty… Before doing anything, I would call Gibson on the Phone. Tell them all the issues that the Guitar has & try to arrange Repairs under your Warranty..
  19. You need to realize Gibson is NOT a Tech Co. Been there done that….. Emails were a waste of time… Do what you want…. Good luck… I bought some Products from a Store in Liverpool, England. I live in the USA. I made a phone call to them, resolved the issue over the phone. I sent them back the wrong Product they sent me & they sent me the right replacement… Fast, easy, no hassle… Dealing via Phone overseas is not that hard……
  20. I’ve used egg crates & mattresses in the past.. They really didn’t work that great..
  21. No! Been there done that! If it’s a Warranty Issue call Gibson on the Phone.. Do not waste your time with Emails.. They’ll take forever or you won’t get a response.. Arrange to send it to Gibson Factory for Repair or Replacement.. Everything else is a road to nowhere but frustration, a less than perfect repair by who knows who & nothing will get done correctly… If you want to return or exchange your Guitar call the Seller…
  22. Auralex will design their recommendations for your Studio or Rehearsal Room… Email them a simple floor plan with dimensions & they will send you their recommendation.. I did that a few years ago & it made a huge difference.. Pricey but now it’s a real Studio…
