  1. The numerous Man hours involved + Materials + Overhead + Profit is the point... How much do you think a high quality Instrument capable of playing & sounding beautiful that is also capable of lasting 100 years or maybe more should cost?
  2. Do you have any idea what’s involved & how long it takes to build a high quality Acoustic Guitar? Then there’s the Materials, Labor Cost & other Overhead costs.... There are many YouTube Factory Tours that go through the process.. Well worth watching.. I’m pretty sure Gibson still establishes the MSRP & MAP Pricing.
  3. New come with Lifetime Warranty.. Which for me has come in handy on 2 Guitars over the years... Right now in the current market some knuckleheads are asking more for Used Guitars than they can be bought for New! It’s a Sellers market.. I got a 20% off Coupon from Musiciansfriend recently & ordered a new USA Epiphone Casino but they would’ve done the same deal on a new Gibson Goldtop Les Paul...
  4. I’ve been in the Real Estate business for 30+ years....
  5. The Epi Viola is very Hofner looking.. I have a Hofner Violin Bass like Mc Cartney’s.. I’m thinking about the ES type Hollow Body Bass. Looking at Gretsch, Guild, Hofner Verythin, Hollow Body in Sunburst it appears there must be some demand as they’re all Sold Out.

  7. Economies & Markets always have Ebb & Flow.. Its never Constant.. Even in this Twilight Zone Period of Time I will continue to bet on the USA.. As for Gibson, like everything else, they’ll never be perfect but I’ll continue to bet on their Guitars.. I believe them to be Collectible Musical Works of Art...
  8. A married Couple can take up to $500,000 Tax free Capital Gain on a Sale of a Private Residence... Anything over that can be Taxed if not reinvested in another Piece of Real Estate..
  9. After having a USA Casino on Order for more than a year I’d like the option to buy one that is a Spec correct version of a 1965 with or without a Bigsby. Not the new one that is full of incorrect Specs..
  10. I know a guy who bought a house not long ago. 10% down & monthly pmts on a 30 year mortgage.. He had the best Tax deduction an average guy can have.. The pmts he made over the next few years didn’t come anywhere near the cost of the house... He just sold it at a $350,000.00 profit after paying off the balance he owed on the mortgage... He is married so that is a Tax free Capital Gain.. Credit used intelligently can be leveraged to be a very profitable means to wealth! There's a Mexican Restaurant in another town we haven’t been to for a while. We thought we’d go & hoped they survived the pandemic.. when we got there they had added 30, or so, outside Tables to stay open.. Now inside dining is allowed & the inside was packed. The outside dining area was also packed.. They expanded their business! There are tons of stories like these.. Guitar manufacturers had the best year they’ve ever had during the pandemic.. Record sales.. Gibson already went BK & survived... They seem to be selling Guitars as fast they can build them.. They can’t build them fast enough! There is no doubt this past year has been difficult for many.. But, there is always a way.. You might have to relocate, re-educate, change professions or whatever it takes.. To stand in one place & say the sky is falling, the sky is falling doesn’t get you anywhere..
  11. From what I see in the Market, Real Estate & General Consumerism there is no shortage of People with Money to spend..
  12. Yes, they are a Bass of many colors... But, I don't believe Sunburst..
  13. Other than Gretsch or Guild, which don’t offer Vintage Sunburst, what are all the other ES Body Hollow or Semi Hollow Body Bass’ are out there? I’m looking for Vintage Sunburst.. Thanks
  14. Why aren’t there any Reissues? (Also posted on Epi Bass page... )
  15. Vox was running a special a few years ago in Canada.. Buy a Vox Amp & get a free Guitar.. I forget the name of the models but were like Les Pauls... I live in So Cal.. I called & tried to buy one.. Long story short they wouldn’t honor the Sale price out of Canada & there was some big hassle about shipping to the U.S. It was too much trouble... Unfortunately, the same deal wasn’t offered in the U.S.A. Because Kong represents U.S.A. & another Co. represents Canada or something like that...
  16. I like that bourbon burst! The Pickups would concern me most... What do they have?
  17. Fender American Deluxe P Bass S-1, Sterling by Music Man Made in Fullerton, Ca. & Hofner Violin Bass..
  18. That’s a beauty! Congrats & Enjoy.. Back in the 80’s an old friend left his at my house for about 3 years. He was more into Electric Guitars at the time. I should’ve bought it. I did buy a Martin D12-16GTE which i still have & it is a great Guitar. I’d still like to have Guild too... I’ve been looking at the new, Made in California, F-512’s which are superb Guitars..
  19. I’ve got Medium Jumbos on my 2013 ES335 Dot & it took some time adjust to them... Could it be they appeal to Guys with fast Hands so they can play with a lighter Touch so they can blaze up & down the Fretboard? Jazz Guys & Rock Lead Guitarists..
  20. The Medium Jumbos do take some getting used to... I don’t recall my vintage 1959 ES345 having them? Although I could be mistaken... I’m curious to know why Gibson is putting Medium Jumbos on ES335’s.. If anyone knows please elaborate.....
