  1. Except for John Mayhall, Keith Richards & a whole of other guys including Country guys like Dwight Yoakham... But, I’m very grateful The Beatles did... Arguably the most versatile Electric Guitar built..
  2. I’m with Macca... That’s the only one I want.. Even though I have 3 other Casinos & decent Collection of other Guitars. I have had the Royal Tan with Nickel Dogear Covers USA Casino on order for more than a year.. I got an email from Epiphone today saying they are for real & it’s no April Fools joke.. Hope to have by July...
  3. Seems weird to say that it may have been a miracle.. It changed everything. It truly was a life changing event & experience.. I was never the same after... I truly think I may have got a new Soul or something. I became a totally different person. My life is great, it is the best it’s ever been.. I’m very blessed... Thank you..
  4. About a year after I came home from Nam I was in a Car Accident in a VW out in the middle of nowhere somewhere near Oxen Hill, Md... If your familiar.. It was 3:00 in the morning. I’d been on a year long Binge & we were heading somewhere... I was so F’d up from Nam I couldn’t be sober.. My Wife had enough & we parted ways about a week earlier... I don’t blame her.. It was all me... I was so wasted I couldn’t drive & asked my buddy if he was ok & he said, yeah... All I can remember was rolling & rolling & being thrown all over the Car. Banging my head several times.. A while later I regained consciousness & was laying in the middle of the Road.. My Buddy said when we hit the retaining wall I got thrown threw the windshield & flew some distance and landed on my head. The VW was a couple hundred feet away upside down & had ended up down an embankment... My head was split open & I was bleeding. My Buddy barely got a scratch.... We stood on the side of the road hoping to get a ride to a Hospital... It seemed like we waited for hours for a Car to come but nothing.... The bleeding from my head was getting worse.. I was in pain but felt numb at the same time. I could feel myself fading out.... I literally saw my life in my head... I knew it was my time... I told my friend, I’m gone.. I believe I died that night. I woke the next day in the Hospital.. I was cut & banged up pretty bad. Bandages & Stitches all over my body. They shaved the top of my head & performed some kind of Procedure.. I had 132 Stitches in my Head.. My ex wife was good enough to call my Dad in Minnesota. He was there by the time I got released from the Hospital... I spent the year at my Dad’s in Minnesota Rehabbing from that accident... When I was well I moved back to California where I’d grown up.... So I believe I’ve already died once.. But, God decided it wasn’t my time.... Since then I’ve always thought I’m on borrowed time.. It was a life changing experience & after that accident I don’t believe I was or am the same Person... I try to live accordingly. It’s very weird & strange... All of that said, I am grateful & feel blessed.. I know there are miracles. I’m one... I’m loving life & hope to be here a long time.. I guess I’d like to be playing my Guitar & singing a Song when my time comes... After all, I believe that’s why I’m here....
  5. It’s a cool little Shoppe! They always have a great selection of upscale Guitars... And it’s at the Beach! I’m going there April 12 for a week.. First time in over a year I’ve been to the Beach.. I usually go at least once or twice a month.. Really looking forward to the trip...
  6. I believe the Riviera uses the same D Adario strings as the other Epiphone Electrics & they’re all std size... I use std size strings on all my Gibson & Epi Guitars with Bigsby’s... That said, I don’t use Ernie Ball Slinky’s...
  7. It’s strange how some Manufacturers Guitars that are MIM are quite good. Almost as good as their USA models.. Some incorporating USA Pickups, Electronics, etc. While other Manufacturers MIM Guitars are pretty awful.. Even though Prices are similar...
  8. I was in Laguna Beach one day at The Guitar Shoppe & played a Collings Dreadnought just before the Pandemic.. I also played a similar size recent Guild USA 6 string & a D-45... I’d hoped to play a J-200E but they didn’t have any. I was hard pressed to choose a winner. All of them were fantastic... Congrats on your new Collings & enjoy.. Very fine Guitar!
  9. I know why Paul has a frown...
  10. That’s what I’m talking about! Beautiful Guitar!
  11. If the OP is talking about the MIC Entry level Casino the first thing I’d change would be the Pickups.. Fralin, Lollar Or Duncan P90’s are far better sounding than the shrill Asian P90’s... Just doing the above plus a Pro Set up will yield a great Guitar! Then add a Bigsby B-7. Improves sustain & is a usable Effect. And it looks cool.. Lastly a Bone Nut, Grover Tuners, upgraded Electronics, Switchcraft Jack & Switch..
  12. It’s an SJ200 with a different Pickguard with Pettys’ name on it... I’m a big Petty fan but I’d rather have a regular SJ200 for about half the cost.
  13. That may one commonality they share with Fender! LOL!
  14. The variations are numerous. Their Models may look similar but there have been so many changes in most Gibson Guitars over the years... Heck in a given year.. They usually have several variations of all their Guitar Models.. 6-12 of each Model.. Every year! All different.. You might need more than one book!
  15. Some really great music was made using Casino’s... The Peerless & Terada built are amazingly well crafted & sound fantastic.. Arguably one the most versatile Guitars you can own. Also some of the MIC built are great Guitars. The IBJL’s, Gary Clark Jr. Blak n Blu, 50th Anniv. 1961 Casino’s are excellent Guitars....
  16. My Mom played Piano beautifully.. At one point she had an 8 foot Steinway Concert Grand.. The most beautiful sounding Piano I’ve ever heard.
  17. A Toyota Corolla is a great Car & does everything you need.. Even has great Quality! But, I don’t want to drive one.. Some things just do it better! I prefer my black Corvette, my black Silverado Crew Cab Pickup & my silver Lexus ES350... Do I need them? No. They check all the boxes for sure.. At least for me. I’ve reached a point in my life I can have pretty much anything I want. But, I don’t go overboard. I may be a bit of a snob but I like having nice Things... So I do. Same with Guitars.. I buy the Guitars I like for what they can do for me.. Not some dude in the future.. Resale value will be what it will be.. I buy higher end quality so I don’t worry about it... Quality does make a difference..
  18. I’ve owned a real 1959 Gibson ES345 & own a Gibson ES335.. Both are wonderful Guitars... There was a period after I sold the 345 & was missing it that I bought an Epi Dot 335.. It was a great Guitar & everybody was trying to buy it from me. I finally sold it to a good friend as I needed some cash to fund another purchase.. Later I bought a Gibson ES335 & still have it... I have played a bunch of Epi Pro 335’s & never ran into a bad one.. Every one has been great! The Pro’s Pickups sounded better to me than the Epi Dots... IMO either would be an excellent choice for a really great moderate price Guitar that is well Crafted, looks, plays & sounds great,
  19. Beautiful Guitar! I’ve got the new USA Casino on Order & they’re saying it will ship in July... It will round out my Collection of Gibsons, Epiphones, Fenders, Gretschs, Rics, Martins & Phantoms... I’m pretty much done as well.. But, it refuse to connect the COVID name to anything as it is such a huge negative & I will ecstatic when we’ve moved past this Period.... Enjoy yours....
  20. Man, that is such a subjective question.. It’s almost like if you gotta ask maybe you shouldn’t mess up a great Guitar if you don’t know what you want... Ask 20 Guys & you’ll get 20 answers.. And they’re all right. You might be better off watching a ton of YouTube’s of different A/E Guitars & get an idea of the Sound you want.. Then go play a few.. Once you know what Sound you want go for it.... IMO, the best sounding Gibson A/E Guitar is my Bozeman Masterbilt Solid Top J-160E with P90....
  21. Maybe the guys at Wild West could reach out to the guy who traded it in & ask him to forward it? Just a thought..
  22. Congrats & Enjoy that nice Martin!
  23. I meant Uline.com for Boxes... Spell check did it..
