  1. Different strokes! I like HB’s in my LP’s & ES335. IMO both P90’s & HB’s are great... Both for different reasons.... I also like the Pickups in my Firebird V.. I just learned they aren’t Mini Humbuckers? New one on me!
  2. If the OP is talking one or two frets I agree. If it’s the whole Neck? In either case I’d call the Seller & say if you expect me to resolve this issue it requires a renegotiation of the Price.. It should be at least equal to a quality Luthiers Estimate to resolve the issue.. In either case if you or someone else does something to the Guitar & it ain’t right it very well could void the Factory Warranty... Which is why I’d avoid all that nonsense & say send me a replacement. A NGD is supposed to be special! Do what you think is best to make it special!
  3. Yeah! That’s the one.. So Cool! Thanks for posting...
  4. Yeah, those are great too as are The Stones & Beatles with their Casinos with P90’s.... But, definitely Carl Perkins way back in the mid 50’s Rockin that cool Goldtop LP with P90’s & Bigsby! Him & Scotty Moore were the inspirations for most who followed..
  5. There’s a great 50’s performance of Carl Perkins doing “Matchbox” & he’s playing an early 50’s LP Goldtop with P90’s & Bigsby on YouTube... after seeing & hearing it I became a huge P90’s addict! I don’t know how to post YouTube’s but if you like P90’s you gotta check it out!
  6. Love the Natural finish... Great Guitars! Enjoy yours....
  7. You might want to upgrade the Pickups.. Fralin, Lollar & other Boutique Pickups are excellent upgrades.. Thro Baks are probably as close to original PAF’s as you can get... They’re pricey though....
  8. Why do people use Super Glue on Guitars???? Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!! That drives me crazy!!! One of the advantages of Hide Glue is when it comes to Repairs & Restorations.. It holds Guitars together extremely well.. But if a Repair is needed it can be heated & removed making the repair much easier to perform. The Hide Glue can even be reused if you want to keep it historically correct....
  9. Similar, yes, but, different Trapeze, Pickguard, Inlays & Tuners are noticeable right off the bat...
  10. ....choose to make a vintage spot on correct Spec USA Casino? It’s certainly not because they aren’t able to... Seriously, they had plenty of time to think about it & plan it. Is there a method to their madness? Or, do they throw Darts at a Dart Board while drinking at the local Honky Tonk down there in Nashville? They certainly could’ve made a version with spot on vintage correct appointments. Does anyone know? What do you think? Lucky
  11. I tend to agree with the the worst Gibson being better theory... Unless the Epiphone happens to have Gibson USA Pickups.. And some do... Gibson Pickups are usually better sounding than their Asian counterparts. I have high end LP’s with HB’s that I love & an LP Special with P90’s that I love just as much... I also have 2 Epiphone Casino’s with Gibson USA P90’s that are great sounding Guitars....
  12. I like to play stereo into my Vox AC15CC1X & Fender 65 DRRI via my Keeley 300 MS Double Tracker... Best of both Worlds! Love the Sound of those two Amps playing in Stereo!!!
  13. I saw a vintage one on Reverb with a Bigsby B7. It weighed 5.5 lbs! Super light!!!
  14. Wow! What a difficult question. IMO it really comes down to the actual Guitars you play of each... If you can go to a Big City Store there may of each to compare.. Who knows which one will sound best to you... Gibson LP JR’s are awesome Guitars... Tough choices!

    Gibson Es335

Look up what they sold for. Not how much they’re asking... Then average out the sale prices.. That will give you a fairly good idea what you might get... Mark yours up a bit for haggling. But, don’t ask more than what they go for new.... You’ll be sitting on it forever...
  16. How many of these Threads that ask, what kind of Amp? or what kind of Guitar?, actually follow up & say what they got?
  17. If it was used it would be one thing but being brand new it’s unacceptable.. Unless, they want give you a huge discount.. Like 50% off or more.. But, if it were me I’d want another one that’s without flaws.. Most are..
  18. Congratulations! Freakin Awesome! That Guitar is a beauty! I’m sure it plays & sounds like a dream Curious, how much does it weigh? Enjoy!
  19. Why don’t they move the old Threads to the Archives? Is it like a joke?

    Gibson Es335

Check EBay & Reverb Sold Section.. It will give you a good idea..
  21. For that Humbucker Guitar I’d really consider a Fender.. A 65 PRRI, 65 DRRI or the new Pro Reverb would make that Guitar Sing! If it had P90’s I’d have said Vox AC15 or AC30....
  22. Obvious, screw up.... Just hope no one looks at that or buys it & expects Royal Tan to look like that Guitar...
  23. Is it a 2021 or maybe an NOS that may have been around a few years? I have played a lot of new Fenders with rough Frets.. Very common.. But, not with Gibson & Epiphone.. They’re usually finished quite good.. In any case return it for a replacement... Why go thru the hassle.. It’s a new Guitar!
