Rabs
Hmmm.. interesting colour combo going on there... There’s no more fitting way to celebrate the pantheon of rock and roll than with a custom rendition of a truly classic Les Paul. Gibson Custom and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, team up once again to follow up 2013’s sold out edition and bring you the 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Les Paul Custom, produced in a limited run of 15 guitars. This striking tribute to rock and roll takes the hallowed form of the timeless ’50s Custom Les Paul, with acrylic block inlays in an ebony fingerboard selected from an ever-dwindling supply, multi-ply body binding, and headstock with multi-ply binding. What’s more, the presentation is made all the more “custom” for this celebration edition thanks to several exclusive features: an aged Antique Pelham Blue finish (which accurately mirrors the vintage lacquer’s “greening” after exposure to light over several decades), the Hall’s pyramid logo inlaid on the headstock, “The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame” etched in the 12th-fret inlay, and a commemorative engraved silver badge in place of the switch cover on the back (a spare plastic switch cover is included in the case). From its carved hard-maple top and select one-piece mahogany back, to its quarter-sawn mahogany neck with comfortable ’50s profile, to the PAF-certified tone delivered by its Custombucker pickups, the 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Les Paul Custom is a tour de force of hand craftsmanship that makes it as desirable a showpiece for the player as it is for the collector. Reserve yours now exclusively through the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With only 15 being made this year, they’re guaranteed to go fast $6,667 http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/2014-Rock-And-Roll-Hall-Of-Fame-Les-Paul-Custom.aspx
Ryan H
Love that color...they should make that a standard color. -Ryan
quapman
Ya I really like that color as well. Very nice. All it's missing is the split diamond in the headstock. That logo looks hideous.
capmaster
From the pictures, the fretboard binding looks very wide to my eyes.
Jimi Mac
Ya I really like that color as well. Very nice. All it's missing is the split diamond in the headstock. That logo looks hideous. I dislike the headstock logo too... Pelham Blue never did anything for me either; antiqued or otherwise... But I do want a Custom, but I as of yet have found a Custom in a color combo that really strikes my fancy. Some of the red ones have come close, but I can't get into the black accoutrements on a Les Paul with the red, I like it on an ES, but on a Les Paul it gives me pause for some reason... The Ebony is a plus! I'm still not sure why Ebony is drying-up... I sense more politics afoot here. I suspect the enviro-terrorists have conspired to make it unavailable to Gibson for some payback for Obammy's assault upon Gibson failing so miserably... (I'll take off my tinfoil hat now...) I hope Ebony fretboards don't become a thing of the past, that would me a miserable crying shame!
badbluesplayer
I'm still not sure why Ebony is drying-up... It probably needs some fretboard conditioner! [laugh]
quapman
Pelham Blue never did anything for me either; antiqued or otherwise... Lol,, the funny thing is I didn't even realize it was pelham blue, which I don't care much for either, until you mentioned it and I went and read it on their site. I thought it was some new metallic green. Regardless the name of the color though,, I think it's hot. For me a Custom needs to be black. But if this thing looks that good in person I might put it a close second. (tasteful burst notwithstanding ;)
