The label on mine says J-45 Rosewood, not a Custom Rosewood, nor a Custom Vine Rosewood, nor a Madagascar Rosewood, nor a Mystic Rosewood.

Does it have a 'custom shop' decal on the back of the top of the neck and/or bling - like abalone 'lucky charm' fret markers " ? OR - if you got it new, what did the paperwork/certificate/warranty describe it as ?

I think we'd all like to help OWF get this list finalized and complete! It's a monsterous undertaking!

Kind of like painting the Brooklyn Bridge, though - I have a feeling that Wiley III will still be carrying on grandpa's project...

Nope, I bought it new in 2004 and all the paperwork describe it as a J-45 Rosewood. The product code as indicated on the warranty registration is RS4RVSGH1.

It has a Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, an ebony fretboard with mother of pearl dot fretboard markers, an ebony belly up bridge, gold Grover Rotomatics, a Fishman Active Matrix II pickup, and a Crown on the headstock.

Irregardless, the J-45RW is the work horse of my small stable.

D'you mean on canvas or giving the construction a new coat of paint. .

a reference to a common notion that when you get to one end of the bridge, you have start again at the other - a never-ending perpetual project.

Sounds like a precursor to the J45 Custom. They stopped making them with ebony FBs a few years after they started. Sounds like a real keeper. I guess OWF needs to add it to the list.
