DynoByte
heres part 4 Howlin' Wolfs performance there is scary. Check out 101:50 - Hubert Sumlin is playing his Italian made four pickup Bartolini, it really looks like a Japanese Teisco. Signature sound. jdgm
Yeah I've got a couple of these on DVDs...to me it is still riveting, even though some of the 'down-home' sets are almost embarrassing.... Sonny Boy Williamson, Matt Murphy, Willie Dixon, T-Bone Walker backing Shakey Jake - who could tell your birthdate by looking at you.....Howling Wolf getting irritated with (very drunk) Son House in the audience....and Otis Rush whose performances alone are worth the price of admission.....I eventually saw Otis in the 80s....it was well worth the wait........ This is the stuff [thumbup]
surfpup
Good stuff. But I didn't expect to see Otis Rush doing a Led Zeppelin song!
Big Bill
John Lee Hooker Rules!! I was raised listening to Zep, Aerosmith, Queen, and Kiss. As I get older, I sure love myself some Blues!!. When I listen to Sirius XM, B.B. Kings Bulesville is my main station. Funny how our taste change. I can't find enough Yardbirds, especially the old Clapton stuff. As a side note, I am learning that a lot of the Zep songs I grew up on in the 70s were old blues tunes... that is a discussion for another thread.
