I like some of the Birdseye tops, that one above is pretty nice. I like this too....

That's a quilted top...

However the Birdseye one above does look almost quilted.. But if you look close you can see the Birdseyes..

And yes. Both quilted and Birdseye tops are usually 50/50 if I am going to like the pattern and its not too over the top.. The one above I do like though even though its on the border of being a bit ott.

Interesting but not for me.

The SG and the Firebird are fugly.

The LP nice but over the top.

However for those who like it it's the greatest.

There seems to almost be a exotic wood line, same hardware and electronics-$3999. The Birdseye is one of them.......

Fingerboard: Thick Ironwood fingerboard

The Redwood $3999..

Fingerboard: Thick Ironwood fingerboard

The Walnut $3999.

Fingerboard: Thick Ironwood fingerboard

Sunken Treasure-Mahogany $3999.

http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/Les-Paul-Sunken-Treasure.aspx

Fingerboard: Sunken Bullet Wood.

The exotic woods are nice and limited, but the boards and zamak bridges and tails I think shouldn't be on models at this $$$.

The fretboard woods I have heard of but never seen used. You have to wonder at $3999 as you can purchase a used RI for the kind of $$$ these are coming out at. That said I like the electronics in them.
