I like this too.... http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/Midtown-Deluxe.aspx That's a quilted top... However the Birdseye one above does look almost quilted.. But if you look close you can see the Birdseyes.. And yes. Both quilted and Birdseye tops are usually 50/50 if I am going to like the pattern and its not too over the top.. The one above I do like though even though its on the border of being a bit ott.
Golden
That's a quilted top... I know, I also noticed you can't buy it in the USA. I was wondering why I never saw it. Yup, the Birdseye they can run from pretty mundane with the Birdseyes to pretty darn figured.
Tman
Love the Birdseye. Just wish it had a 60's profile.

The SG and the Firebird are fugly. The LP nice but over the top. However for those who like it it's the greatest.

Golden
There seems to almost be a exotic wood line, same hardware and electronics-$3999. The Birdseye is one of them....... Fingerboard: Thick Ironwood fingerboard http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/Les-Paul-Birdseye.aspx The Redwood $3999.. Fingerboard: Thick Ironwood fingerboard http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/Les-Paul-Redwood.aspx The Walnut $3999. Fingerboard: Thick Ironwood fingerboard http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/Les-Paul-Standard-Figured-Walnut.aspx Sunken Treasure-Mahogany $3999. http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2016/USA/Les-Paul-Sunken-Treasure.aspx Fingerboard: Sunken Bullet Wood. The exotic woods are nice and limited, but the boards and zamak bridges and tails I think shouldn't be on models at this $$$. The fretboard woods I have heard of but never seen used. You have to wonder at $3999 as you can purchase a used RI for the kind of $$$ these are coming out at. That said I like the electronics in them.
